Friday 28 August 2020, Day 10 of Level 2, Day 155 of Lockdown 😷

Corona Gratitude 🙏

#Grateful for an all-day rain day, not as cold as it was forecast, being warm inside my home; for getting a walking gap to Camps Bay at lunchtime, and to Bakoven after sunset, getting caught in a heavy shower, finding shelter under my rain protection tree until it stopped, allowing me to get home dry; for an energetic working morning, allowing me a cosy snooze in my warm bed this afternoon; for dancing to Kfm; and for being happy and healthy. 🙏💙

My Sweet Service Award went to the Law Enforcement Office in Camps Bay, and the Sour Service Award went to Sandak-Lewin!

Yesterday’s busy afternoon led to a number of Social Media posts during the day. I thanked Janet Pillai with gratitude for connecting me to Venishree Mayer, her ADHARA olive oil opening so many doors for me, in not only meeting her and Jürgen, but the top women restaurateurs in Cape Town too, all hanging in there with tenacity, none moaning or complaining, just getting on with what needs to be done, all hands-on. 🙏💙💙💙

In walking to Camps Bay I realized half-way that I’d forgotten my mask at home…. my first time in 5 months. 😱😷 I kept walking as I felt the first drops, pulling my jersey over my nose and mouth. I didn’t pass anyone, and headed to Maison J, to buy a bottle of the lovely honey that they sell, which taste so good on their delicious croissants 🐝🥐

Supper is a special treat of lamb liver, which I saw in the tiny German butcher on Kloof Street yesterday. My mom made it for us once a week, because it is so healthy, yet she couldn’t stand eating it herself. ❤️

The Corona Virus Lockdown (Level 5), announced by our President Cyril Ramaphosa earlier to commence on 27 March and to continue until 16 April, subsequently extended to 30 April, lowered to Level 4 from 1 May, lowered to Level 3 from 1 June, and lowered to Level 2 from 18 August, is an unprecedented event in my lifetime. I am posting my daily Facebook post to journal this Corona Lockdown Journey, perhaps to serve as material for a future Book.
