Sunday 30 August 2020, Day 13 of Level 2, Day 157 of Lockdown 😷

Corona Gratitude 😷

#Gratitude for a beautiful sunny day, feeling warmer than 14C, and chilly when a cloud moved over the sun with a few rain drops at lunchtime, having to put my jersey back on again during my walk to Clifton, and then linking it to a Bakoven walk; for a most fabulous sun snooze on the terrace this afternoon; for feeling strong and organized about a big Admin week lying ahead; for loving sitting at my little table on the terrace, waving at the passersby that I know; for some follow-up calls; for trying to arrange more Women Restaurateur ADHARA deliveries for the owners who are further afield; for loving this calm day; for so many 💙 clouds today; for my long walk today, feeling far more energetic; and for being happy and healthy. 🙏💙

I loved all the heart clouds, a sign of a wonderful day. The only cloud over the day was an email from one of the women owners in my Block, blasting me for daring to speak to her Ghanaian renter about his loud music on Friday night, threatening to sue me for loss of income if he moves out as a result. I wrote back calmly, and told her that he is a bully, and that I fear being in the building alone with him at night and on weekends when the other renters are not in the building. 🥵🥵🥵 All was going so well in the past two months. …. 😱😱😱

An admin day today already, finding that some promised Discovery Cashback payments have not actually been paid. Weirdly they announce Cashback payments two weeks after they have already paid them, in a previous month. And a weird figure, for example R66,66, sounds like the Corona stats, which often feel made up to me. 😱

I’m not accepting begging of any kind. Yesterday, whilst having lunch, I received a Messenger message, a Nicole asking if she can call me to ask me something. She could have just written the question… So I thought it was for a restaurant recommendation, and gave her my number. Turned out that she wanted to come to my home to demonstrate anti-aging products to me…. quickest NO, and Friend delete and Unfriend ever. And today a request for coverage from someone who has spent no time in getting to know me, or support anything that I post, tagged with a 100 others…… Social Media is give and take… not just take. 🥵🥵🥵

In for another cold night tonight. And more rain forecast for tomorrow ☔️

The Corona Virus Lockdown (Level 5), announced by our President Cyril Ramaphosa earlier to commence on 27 March and to continue until 16 April, subsequently extended to 30 April, lowered to Level 4 from 1 May, lowered to Level 3 from 1 June, and lowered to Level 2 from 18 August, is an unprecedented event in my lifetime. I am posting my daily Facebook post to journal this Corona Lockdown Journey, perhaps to serve as material for a future Book.
