Corona Gratitude 🙏

#grateful for a good working day, loving the adrenaline and buzz of spending the whole afternoon at Zest Restaurant and newkings boutique hotel, Zest reopenimg tomorrow, and serving Breakfast for the first time, open to hotel guests as well as locals, from 7h00 – 11h00; for a lovely team spirit at Zest, after 4 weeks of not seeing each other, I feeling part of the family, thanks to the amazing kind owner Chef Pavel; for bumping into Jayme at Zest, the best buddy of #BananaBoy, the second time we’ve seen each other by coincidence in a month 🍌; for kind Charlene Shapiro of CNC Products, dropping off an order for me at Zest, so we had coffee/tea and a chat first; for finding new Woolworths Piazza da Luz Manager Gary Arendse in the store, previously from Camps Bay, being very helpful when I did some shopping there; for a quick Bakoven walk before my meetings; for lovely Kfm Dansdag music to dance to around my couch to make up my steps of the day; for lovely rain, coming down in buckets in Camps Bay when I drove home; for receiving my second vaccination confirmation for Friday; and for being happy, dry, healthy, and free. 🙏💙

My Blogpost today was about the Pfizer vaccine being produced in Cape Town from next year, 100 million doses per annum planned for the African continent.

My Horoscope says that Mercury has departed from my life today, about time after all the disruption it has caused in the past month. 😱

Utopia launched its new Winter Tasting Menu yesterday, still at R195 for 5 courses, and we are having a fantastic response. Today I nominated Utopia for the Best Date Night Restaurant in Kfm’s Best of the Cape Awards. There are 30 categories in the competition. Details on the Kfm website.

The Corona Virus Lockdown (Level 5), announced by our President Cyril Ramaphosa earlier to commence on 27 March 2020 and to continue until 16 April, subsequently extended to 30 April, lowered to Level 4 from 1 May, lowered to Level 3 from 1 June, lowered to Level 2 from 18 August, lowered to Level 1 from 21 September, and moved back to Adjusted Level 3 from 29 December,  extended to 15 February on 11 January 2021, extended but relaxed on 1 February, and relaxed back to Level 1 on 1 March 2021, moved back to Adjusted Level 2 on 31 May, moved back to level 3 on 16 June, and moved back to Adjusted Level 4 on 28 June, extended by two weeks on 11 July, and returned to Level 3 on 26 July, is an unprecedented event in my lifetime. I am posting my daily Facebook post to journal this Corona Lockdown Journey, perhaps to serve as material for a future Book.
