Corona Gratitude 🙏

#gratitude for such a wonderful day, with no stress or strain; for an admin and writing catch up day, allowing me some time off this weekend; for a visit by Anna Marie V. Tielmann, who saw me on my terrace when she walked past with her baby son, catching up on 6 months since we had last seen each other; for a wonderful Bakoven walk, seeing three heart and one dancer clouds; for my Minsky showing me so much love, being far more housebound than ever before, finally having forgiven me for bringing Earl Grey into our home 😻😻; for a wonderful evening of fun and dinner with Tania Harrison at Zest, with the most superb waitress Jodie Milner, the best waitress in Cape Town; for getting through a Road block on my way home; and for being happy, healthy and free. 🙏💙

The Sweet Service Award went to Pilcrow & Cleaver/Fideli’s; the Sour Service Award went to Pick n Pay ASAP! for the third week running!

Tania and I had the new Zest Spring Menu, 5 generous courses at R198, most prepared on the open fire grill. We started with Peach Martini Bellinis. We had wine in-between and I ended my dinner off with an Espresso Martini. Jodie told us more about herself, with a Jewish dad and Portuguese exec chef mom, who helped set up the Moyo restaurants. Her grandfather was a famous cricketer. She is an absolute natural as a waitress. Sadly man-bun-mixologist Josh has left Zest. 😱

After the dinner I showed Tania the Gaia Gift and Decor Shop in the New Kings Hotel, and she fell in love with the most beautiful pink ostrich feather clutch bag. ❤️

The police Road Block at Maiden’s Cove is the first one that I have experienced since Lockdown. Everyone was stopped. The cop checked the back of my car with his torch and then joked about me being out during Curfew…. when it was only 21h25….. 😂😂😂

The Corona Virus Lockdown (Level 5), announced by our President Cyril Ramaphosa earlier to commence on 27 March 2020 and to continue until 16 April, subsequently extended to 30 April, lowered to Level 4 from 1 May, lowered to Level 3 from 1 June, lowered to Level 2 from 18 August, lowered to Level 1 from 21 September, and moved back to Adjusted Level 3 from 29 December,  extended to 15 February on 11 January 2021, extended but relaxed on 1 February, and relaxed back to Level 1 on 1 March 2021, moved back to Adjusted Level 2 on 31 May, moved back to level 3 on 16 June, and moved back to Adjusted Level 4 on 28 June, extended by two weeks on 11 July, and returned to Level 3 on 26 July, is an unprecedented event in my lifetime. I am posting my daily Facebook post to journal this Corona Lockdown Journey, perhaps to serve as material for a future Book.
