Thursday 20 August 2020, Day 3 of Level 2, Day 147 of Lockdown. 😷

Corona Gratitude 🙏

#Grateful for all the light rain that fell today, almost all day, only allowing me a quick walk through Bakoven; for a busy writing and admin day; for being spoilt with the delivery of a box of ingredients this morning, which was transformed into a Chicken Ballotine by our MasterChick Jenny Stephens this evening, a recipe created and our cooking guided by Chef Jennifer Morris via livestream, with Chef Peter Goffe-Wood the MC; for not being subjected to Loadshedding today; and for being happy and healthy. 🙏💙

It rained softly almost all day, with a break in the rain late afternoon, so I dashed out quickly to get a walk. My second lowest step count day today since Lockdown started. 😢👣

It seemed as if I had an admin overload day today, with a challenging job test in writing a Customer Services letter in German in reply to a lost baggage complaint, for what clearly could be an airline call centre job. Not being told yet who the client is.

My Blogpost today was a new list of Restaurants which are to reopen or have reopened since the Level 2 regulations took effect on Tuesday.

Lifting of alcohol leads to welcome reopening of restaurants which were closed during Levels 3 and 4!

I was sent the link for the #JerusalemaChallenge Video by Gary Arendse, the Manager of the Woolies Camps Bay Branch. I speak and dance in it. 💃💃👣👣❤️

Stuart Bailey and Jenny joined me for the livestream cooking of the Chicken Ballotine, Jenny using the recipe card to start the preparation of the dinner ahead of the start of the livestream. She butterflied the chicken breasts, made ‘sausages’ of a mixture of spinach, mushrooms, mozzarella cheese and feta, which she stuffed into each chicken breast, then wrapped bacon around each breast, and then grilled them in the oven. She prepared a delicious Creamy Blistered Tomato Sauce, made with cherry tomatoes, which we poured over the chicken breasts. This was served with potatoes, and avocado. Our ingredient box contained two bottles of Verjuice as a gift too. We opened an excellent Oldenburg Shiraz 2009 from my wine collection. A lovely evening spent with close friends. #thankyou ❤️❤️❤️

SA Corona Status: 599940 cases 12618 deaths 😷😥

FitBit: 8000 steps 6 km 👣

The Corona Virus Lockdown (Level 5), announced by our President Cyril Ramaphosa earlier to commence on 27 March and to continue until 16 April, subsequently extended to 30 April, lowered to Level 4 from 1 May, lowered to Level 3 from 1 June, and lowered to Level 2 from 18 August, is an unprecedented event in my lifetime. I am posting my daily Facebook post to journal this Corona Lockdown Journey, perhaps to serve as material for a future Book.
