Saturday 4 July 2020, Day 34 at Level 4, after 66 days at levels 5 and 4 😷
Corona Gratitude 🙏
#Grateful for reaching the 100th day of Lockdown, having enjoyed this process and learning so far, sadly feeling at my lowest today in all the past 100 days, yet so happy to celebrate with the most beautiful music performed by Daniel Hope with Hope @ Home on Tour, from Zürich with the Zürich Chamber Orchestra, largely dedicated to the celebration of American Independence Day; for having Joel come to work today, not cleaning up Camps Bay for a change but transforming our apartment garden; for an energetic walk to Clifton Fourth Beach and back in sunny mild weather before rain comes along tomorrow; for a complimentary taste of Unframed ice cream, now available at Sunset Sessions 🙏; for a shop at Pick n Pay; for a shorter walk to Bakoven; finding horrid litter in the driveway of a house, mainly with beer bottles; for all the love in the sky today, so many 💙 clouds; and for a very early night in bed, to get over this pain. 🙏💙
I slept badly last night, having such bad toothache, waking up every two hours or so. Luckily all the bits and pieces of sleep added up to over 8 hours, a record for me. The intense pain disappeared during the course of the day, but there was a background pain, less intense, in my right ear. My body feels sore, all signs that are not good, but I’ve just measured my temperature, and it’s 35,3C. At least one benefit is losing some weight, not feeling up to eating, except for a mushroom soup I made, adding a good dose of sherry to it. Very happy that my blood sugar level is still holding steady, at 5,0, having been a diabetic before my weight loss.
Unframed was named the Number One Ice Cream Parlour in the world last year, at its Kloof Street Branch. It now sells four flavours from Sunset Sessions. The marshmallow flavour is delicious.
I thought of dancing and jumping up and down to celebrate our country’s 100 days in Lockdown, and our handling of it ❤️ , but I didn’t really have the energy for it. And then the beautiful concert by Daniel Hope and the Zürich Chamber Orchestra performance arrived at 18h00, and I realized that this is a beautiful way of celebrating, especially as Daniel Hope was born in Durban and his renowned author dad Christopher lives in Johannesburg . 🎶🎶🎶🎶🇿🇦🇿🇦🇿🇦🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈
So sad to hear the colourful The Stack closing down permanently.

The Corona Virus Lockdown (Level 5), announced by our President Cyril Ramaphosa earlier to commence on 27 March and to continue until 16 April, subsequently extended to 30 April, lowered to Level 4 from 1 May, and lowered to Level 3 from 1 June, is an unprecedented event in my lifetime. I am posting my daily Facebook post to journal this Corona Lockdown Journey, perhaps to serve as material for a future Book.
