Corona Gratitude 🙏

#Grateful for a 27C day, the wind picking up now; for the invitation to meet restaurateur Victor Gonçalves of NV-80 in Sea Point and have Dilmah Earl Grey tea with him; for finding three-quarter leggings next door at Pick n Pay Clothing, not being able to find then at Woolies; for getting my power bank cable problem sorted at a Pakistani cellphone shop on Main Road, and my glass protection screen replaced at a reduced price, feeling as good as new now; for sitting down and writing all afternoon; for an energetic walk to Clifton and back, gaining 300 points; for the delivery from TakeaLot of two generic Cannon printer cartridges, costing next to nothing by comparison and working perfectly; and for being happy and healthy 🙏💙.

I’ve only been to NV-80 once before. Victor told me the history of his restaurant and Pigalle before that, and how things have changed since Lockdown started ten months ago.

It was so much quieter in Camps Bay when I walked late afternoon, with less litter, and I was heading for Clifton at good speed, when I bumped into Dr Andy Jo, having a long conversation with him about his latest Medical health book, and our declining Corona Virus stats. We jumped topic to FitBit and I have encouraged him to buy one. 👣 Andy expressed surprise that I have not yet had the Corona Virus, being out and about so much. I charged back home at even higher speed to rev up my heart rate.

I didn’t finish my Blogpost as it clashed with my Sea Point visit. 😱 Hopefully the visit will be worthwhile.

The Corona Virus Lockdown (Level 5), announced by our President Cyril Ramaphosa earlier to commence on 27 March and to continue until 16 April, subsequently extended to 30 April, lowered to Level 4 from 1 May, lowered to Level 3 from 1 June, lowered to Level 2 from 18 August, lowered to Level 1 from 21 September, and moved back to Adjusted Level 3 from 29 December,  extended to 15 February on 11 January, and extended but relaxed on 1 February, is an unprecedented event in my lifetime. I am posting my daily Facebook post to journal this Corona Lockdown Journey, perhaps to serve as material for a future Book.
