Wednesday 18 November 2020, Day 59 of Level 1, Day 238 of Lockdown. 😷
Corona Gratitude 🙏
#Grateful for a beautiful sunny 21C day, despite the South Easter blowing all day; for an early morning meeting which I linked to a first Camps Bay walk, bumping into German swallows Haakon and Thomas at okja; for a spoil breakfast of a croissant and Dilmah Earl Grey Tea at Firefly Café, with a fabulous connection; for a second walk to Camps Bay this afternoon, popping in at Absolute Pets to buy a cat treat, and receiving two sample packs of their house brand Lokuno chicken and rice dry food to test on my cats; for a day of past connections, all of which I have let go of; for dancing to Kfm; for two Discovery Game board plays, totalling a lucky 470 points; and for being happy and healthy. 🙏💙
It was an upside down day, not being able to write a Blogpost because the meeting got in the way, an interesting but disappointing introduction to Camps Bay politics, which I have been oblivious to, and will not repeat attending.
Haakon and Thomas told me that Mahmud Fredericks is arriving from Holland tomorrow, visiting for a week. 💙
I had a service incident at Firefly, which was observed by the Acting Manager Jason Laing, and he came to my table to chat to me about it proactively. He knocked me sideways by showing me a photograph taken of the two of us dancing at La Parada Constantia Nek four years ago, he finding it on his phone – we have not seen each other since, as he left for Canada soon thereafter, and only returned to Cape Town during Lockdown. So we had to do a new pic, I certainly not dressed for the occasion, wind blown! 😱💙
My Tarot card today was a scary The Devil, and it became clear who it referred to when someone Googled Daniel Waldis, a Swiss Scheister whom I wrote about after he took me to the High Court, losing his case demanding that I remove my Blogpost about the misleading claims he made about his Le Chocolatier chocolates. He had rented the house of a friend of the caller, not paid a cent, and trashed the house! I am so glad that action will be taken. 🥵🥵🥵
Another interesting call was from a friend of #blueeyes, asking for some guest house details going back six years or so, and so I asked him about the German person. He laughed,, saying he had heard from him earlier today for the first time in months! 😂😂
I was in the queue at Pick n Pay this afternoon, and saw the price of their Smarties, now at R14 odd a small box. Last month they cost R11. 🥵 I spontaneously bought Aquafresh toothpaste at Woolies, not bothering to compare prices at Pick n Pay, until after my purchase – R13,99 at Woolies, R24,99 at Pick n Pay, same size pack! 🥵🥵🥵
An eventful day 😱

The Corona Virus Lockdown (Level 5), announced by our President Cyril Ramaphosa earlier to commence on 27 March and to continue until 16 April, subsequently extended to 30 April, lowered to Level 4 from 1 May, lowered to Level 3 from 1 June, lowered to Level 2 from 18 August, and lowered to Level 1 from 21 September, is an unprecedented event in my lifetime. I am posting my daily Facebook post to journal this Corona Lockdown Journey, perhaps to serve as material for a future Book.
