Corona Gratitude 🙏

#Grateful for a 22 C day, with no wind; for Minsky coming home early this morning, after another night of galavanting 🙀; for a long writing day, having to first delete some Apps and videos from my phone so that my Instagrammed pics come into my camera roll; for a lovely snooze this afternoon after my disrupted sleep and worry about Minsky; for a late afternoon walk to Clifton and back, the first time since Wednesday that I have earned 300 Discovery points 💙 ; for a very noisy apartment client directly above me having checked out today 👏👏👏; and for being happy and healthy.

My Blogpost today was about the dinner Jenny Stephens and I enjoyed at Anatoli Turkish Restaurant on Saturday evening. A whole new vocabulary of Turkish and Mediterranean food terms for me to learn. By Googling I learnt that Anatoli (37 years) is the 4th oldest restaurant in Cape Town, after Maria’s (65 years), Mario’s (50 years), and Nelson’s Eye (about 50 years).

I’ve decided to turn my Mask Mission around by thanking those that wear them correctly. My first compliment was met with a chat with a stranger, who shared that his doctor friend had just messaged him that a friend and a patient had just passed away. 😷😢

Not sure if anyone else shares my scepticism about only 10000 or so persons having been vaccinated in our country to date, about 1000 – 2000 daily! At that rate the Virus will long be a non-event 😱

The Corona Virus Lockdown (Level 5), announced by our President Cyril Ramaphosa earlier to commence on 27 March and to continue until 16 April, subsequently extended to 30 April, lowered to Level 4 from 1 May, lowered to Level 3 from 1 June, lowered to Level 2 from 18 August, lowered to Level 1 from 21 September, and moved back to Adjusted Level 3 from 29 December,  extended to 15 February on 11 January, and extended but relaxed on 1 February, is an unprecedented event in my lifetime. I am posting my daily Facebook post to journal this Corona Lockdown Journey, perhaps to serve as material for a future Book.
