Friday 30 April 2021, Day 61 of Level 1 😷
Corona Gratitude 🙏
#Gratitude for a wonderful unplanned day, starting early at 5h00, and surviving the reduced sleep; for it being slightly warmer today, but still with a chilly wind this evening; for getting all my work done this morning; for getting the hacked Instagram account operating again; for a power walk with 36 minutes of Cardio from my home to The Roundhouse, half of it being uphill, earning me 300 Discovery points; for my tea/coffee date with restaurateur Ian Halfon at The Lawns turning into a 7-course 5 hour delight and indulgence at Salsify at The Roundhouse, Camps Bay’s secret best restaurant by far; for the lift back to home, receiving some wine from Ian too; for a quick walk through Bakoven, to catch the sunset; and for being happy, healthy, and free. 🙏💙

Standard Bank’s App played up today. Not great at month-end 😡
Ian and I had not seen each other for a long time, only having caught up over the phone. It was the funniest sight, I being allowed into Salsify, one of our city’s top restaurants, in my walking shorts and top, huffing and puffing from the walk. 😱 We were treated like royalty, Ian knowing one of the waiters, different chefs and waiters and Manager Pierre Broodryk bringing the dishes and explaining them to us in detail. We started with the 5 course Tasting Menu, drinking a delightful ten year old RadfordDale Pinot Noir after a Sauvignon Blanc, and then a Noble Late Harvest. Some courses had choices, and we chose a different dish per course each time. Ian felt like more of the lovely dishes, so we ordered two courses from the 7 course menu and repeated the cheese course, it being so delicious. A total indulgence. 👏👏👏. I’ll post more pics of the lunch tomorrow.
Very interesting news was revealed about Salsify, and its future plans. Will share on my Blog on Monday .

The Corona Virus Lockdown (Level 5), announced by our President Cyril Ramaphosa earlier to commence on 27 March and to continue until 16 April, subsequently extended to 30 April, lowered to Level 4 from 1 May, lowered to Level 3 from 1 June, lowered to Level 2 from 18 August, lowered to Level 1 from 21 September, and moved back to Adjusted Level 3 from 29 December, extended to 15 February on 11 January, extended but relaxed on 1 February, and relaxed back to Level 1 on 1 March 2021, is an unprecedented event in my lifetime. I am posting my daily Facebook post to journal this Corona Lockdown Journey, perhaps to serve as material for a future Book.
