Saturday 21 November 2020, Day 62 of Level 1, Day 241 of Lockdown 😷
Corona Gratitude 🙏
#Grateful for a relaxed day; for a sunny but much cooler day, at 22C; for a busy morning on Social Media; for a walk to Camps Bay, with lots of litter from yesterday to pick up; for a friendly shop at Woolies; for a cocktail date with Hans-Werner Klein and Rose Klein at Utopia, I staying on to listen to George Sax playing, and serenading a couple that got engaged; and for being happy and healthy. 🙏💙
I have bumped into Hans-Werner and Rose a number of times, but we have never had a sit-down chat. This afternoon was our first real getting to know each other. We each tried a different Utopia cocktail, mine being a Bain’s whisky sour, the whisky made in my hometown Wellington. Hans-Werner gave me a new copy of the Süd-Afrika Magazin, which he works with. #LiebenDank.
I love engagements, and tonight’s was the second in a week which I have experienced at Utopia. Tooooo sweet 💍💍💍. George serenaded them after she said YES. 🎷🎷🎷
So lovely to see Janne de Beer celebrating a birthday at Utopia, and a great restaurant catch-up chat. 😊
It’s just started drizzling. I left Utopia just as the dancing was beginning, knowing that I would stay until Curfew if I didn’t leave. 💃🕺

The Corona Virus Lockdown (Level 5), announced by our President Cyril Ramaphosa earlier to commence on 27 March and to continue until 16 April, subsequently extended to 30 April, lowered to Level 4 from 1 May, lowered to Level 3 from 1 June, lowered to Level 2 from 18 August, and lowered to Level 1 from 21 September, is an unprecedented event in my lifetime. I am posting my daily Facebook post to journal this Corona Lockdown Journey, perhaps to serve as material for a future Book.
