Corona Gratitude đ
#Grateful for the perseverance in spending almost all day writing the lengthy Review of the new Grand Pavilion, at which Gary Peterson and I ate yesterday; for a quick walk to Pick n Pay to post my SwitchBitch book to TJ Strydom, he writing the Koos Bekker biography; for a quick shop at Woolies, where the Wifi didnât work, but one of the Manager gave me a Wifi hotspot from his phone đ; for a spontaneous small Pedi at Sorbet, having a gap; for early dinner at Anatoli Turkish Restaurant with Katie Friedman, to try its Restaurant Week Menu, running until 2 May; for the surprise in bumping into JĂŒrgen Muess once again at the restaurant (Donoven Hammond Gloy can you believe this?) and for a Facebook Friend Sarie Spryt from the Garden Route dining there too and recognizing me đ±; for getting home just before Loadshedding started; and for being happy and healthy. đđ Continue reading →
While I had tried to separate my Blog writing from my new work as a Communications Consultant, my cover was blown (so to speak) when a fantastic 10/10 review for my client was posted yesterday, including me in the praise.
I was very excited about the year 2020, having the 20th as a birthdate, and it being my lucky number. Despite the tragedy of the Corona Virus pandemic and the inconvenience of the Lockdown regulations at times, 2020 turned out to be one of my best ever, learning from it and growing through it.
Seven years ago I wrote a story about the South African Butler Academy, and its marketing deception, having had the poor experience of employing one of its Butler graduates in my Whale Cottage Camps Bay, which I owned at the time. Yesterday Carte Blanche took up the story, highlighting my story of seven years ago, as well as that of Lin Yang, a Singaporean student, who was expelled from the Academy a year ago for being late one morning, and who is unable to get her money back. Once again, the deceptive marketing of the SA Butler Academy was evident when its management was interviewed by Carte Blanche presenter Derek Watts.
