Corona Gratitude đ
#Grateful for a beautiful summery Winter day, ahead of a weather change tomorrow; for a good working morning; for an energetic walk to Fourth Beach Clifton, with no torn garbage bags; for being excited to see the City Parks department coming to Camps Bay to mow the lawns, the area around the Stream looking superb now; for checking out which restaurants are open for Sit-Down in Camps Bay; for a shop at Woolworths, Manager Gary Arendse coming to greet me after we hadnât seen each other there for a while; for a VitD snooze on the terrace; for our vegetable garden getting on fabulously; for my suggestion to our Portfolio Manager to connect Henry to the internet in a money-saving manner being accepted, a positive outcome from the AGM yesterdayđ; for getting a Discovery Gameboard play; for receiving R300 CashBack on the jacket which I bought at Sportsmanâs Warehouse, and R340 for my healthy food purchases at Woolies, both done in June, a nice surprise from Discovery; for Minsky just returning from a long walk-about which made me very anxiousđ±; and for being healthy and happy. đđ Continue reading →

I first heard about âDark Kitchensâ when I met Ian Halfon, CEO of Slick Restaurant Group, last week, his company having opened Cape Townâs newest Dark Kitchen on New Church Street in the City centre. Also known as âvirtual kitchensâ, âghost kitchensâ, or âcloud kitchensâ, Dark Kitchens are independent operations creating food for a multitude of brands, such as the Slick Restaurant Group is doing, having opened its operation with five restaurant brands initially, and more planned, all food prepared from one Central kitchen, with obvious cost benefits. Food is ordered online, for delivery to the customer.Â
On Saturday morning I attended the launch of the innovative new Nuri Sushi Factory Breakfast Menu in Sea Point, invited by Brewz Krew MD Thabied Harris. The menu rolled out at the Sea Point branch yesterday.
The Sweet Service Award goes to Waterfront Leathers, and its sales assistant Suraya Isaacs, for her excellent service in selling me a Cellini suitcase at a reasonable price. She was knowledgeable about the brand, found me a suitcase in a blue which matches a smaller suitcase I had already bought in the UK, and proactively offered to change the code on the combination lock from the standard supplier one. This was a vast difference to the poor service I received at Frasers, where the sales assistant did not want to listen to my requirements in a suitcase.
