Grateful for a beautiful 17C day, third day in a row, before the rain hits us tomorrow; for a fabulously lucky Discovery Gameboard play, scoring 750 points on one of the two plays, giving me a Woolies voucher, a good omen for the rest of the day; for selling a SwitchBitch book tiday, thank you Gloria 🙏; for a good working day; for a walk to Pick n Pay to buy some essentials, including batteries for my alarm sensors, an expensive exercise; for a Bakoven walk; for Minsky coping well in receiving her annual vaccination, I worrying about her being traumatized by being in a cat carrier for the first time Continue reading →

Sweet Service Award goes to Woolworths; Sour Service Award goes to TakeaLot!

 

The Sweet Service Award goes to Woolworths Camps Bay, and to its former Store Manager Gary Arendse, who headed up the branch for just over two years, and sadly has been moved to the Piazza da Luz Branch in Sea Point. From the messages members of the community posted in his honour in reaction to a Facebook post, and from my own experience, Gary was the perfect Manager, always professional, friendly, connecting with customers, knowing our names, keeping products for me when I could not get to the shop immediately, sourcing products not stocked in this small branch from other Continue reading →

#Grateful for a hot day at 27C, and forecast to be even hotter tomorrow; for a short writing working day, having done most of the preparation last night; for getting my car serviced at Audi Century City, the Service Manager Hennie Kriel looking after my baby and replacing the battery, the Maintenance Plan running out later this month; for a Canal Walk shopping morning while I waited for my car, Hennie driving me across to the Centre and fetching me; for a walk to Camps Bay to buy some Kitten wet food at Pick n Pay; for a catch up call with my Alex, hearing his exciting business plans; and for being happy and healthy. 🙏💙 Continue reading →
