Corona Virus: Lockdown Journey Journal, Day 24 of Level 1, 24 March 2021

Wednesday 24 March 2021, Day 24 of Level 1, Day 363 of Lockdown 😷

Corona Gratitude 🙏

#Grateful for another beautiful summer day at 29C, with no wind; for getting my work done this morning, in such good time that I could spoil myself with an apple tart at Labotessa in Parliament Street; for a good Status meeting with Anatoli, Chef Jacques preparing three starters for me to photograph in preparation of Restaurant Week, which starts next week; for popping in at Mr Price Home but not finding what I wanted; for picking up paint sample cards at Laughton’s; for a walk through the Artem Centre, spoiling myself with the most expensive ice cream I’ve ever bought, at Coco Safar; for an uplifting and energizing walk between Bakoven and Camps Bay, at sunset, taking some good photographs, and getting a good Cardio boost and 300 Discovery points; for two Discovery Gameboard plays; and for being happy and healthy. 🙏💙

My Blogpost today was the good news of yesterday that the British & Irish Lions will play in SA in July and early August, two matches out of 8 being in Cape Town. Let’s hope that some spectators are allowed. 🙏

British & Irish Lions Rugby Tour to South Africa to go ahead in July 2021!

I was shocked, while walking through SANS, that two chaps chatted to each other in the organic food shop in the Centre, both not wearing masks. One gave me a mouthful when I asked them to wear a mask, saying that the mask-wearing law had been contested and reversed in court. Such BS. I then called a manager and asked him if he could deal with them. Proudly the cheeky one told me that he is the owner of SANS, Lebanese JP Bolus😡😡😡! He remembered that I had interviewed him three years ago and that he was proud of it. He owns SANS, Loading Bay, and Pauline’s. Wont be going back there again! 🥵🥵🥵🥵

The Corona Virus Lockdown (Level 5), announced by our President Cyril Ramaphosa earlier to commence on 27 March and to continue until 16 April, subsequently extended to 30 April, lowered to Level 4 from 1 May, lowered to Level 3 from 1 June, lowered to Level 2 from 18 August, lowered to Level 1 from 21 September, and moved back to Adjusted Level 3 from 29 December,  extended to 15 February on 11 January, extended but relaxed on 1 February, and relaxed back to Level 1 on 1 March 2021, is an unprecedented event in my lifetime. I am posting my daily Facebook post to journal this Corona Lockdown Journey, perhaps to serve as material for a future Book.
