Mayoral Committee Member Alderman James Vos has made successful submissions to Transport Minister Fikile Mbalula and Tourism Minister Lindiwe Sisulu to allow Delta Airlines to fly a triangular route between Atlanta, Johannesburg and Cape Town, which will mean a boost for the tourism industry in Cape Town and South Africa, the City of Cape Town reported today.
The new route will complement Delta Airlines’ direct flights between Cape Town and Newark/New York, set to resume in June.

The fact that a large number of film permits have been issued for film productions in Cape Town in the 2021/2022 summer months is excellent news in itself, reflecting the recovery of the Cape Town film industry.
But that Mission Impossible 8 is to be filmed in and around Cape Town (and Durban) next month is even more amazing news for the economy of the Cape, and for its reputation as a film location and tourist destination!
