Friday 19 June 2020, Day 19 of Level 3, after 66 days at Levels 4 and 5 😷

Corona Gratitude 🙏

#Grateful for another beautiful summer day, the berg wind giving it away that rain is on the way for the weekend; for finishing an unplanned but hot story last night, which gave me some extra snoozing time this morning; for seeing my dearest friend Stuart Bailey for the first time in 85 days, driving to Stellenbosch together for a meeting, with a long catch-up time, even though we chat on the phone regularly; for receiving a message from Sportsman’s Warehouse that my repaired FitBit was ready for collection, at no charge; to buy beautiful cheeses and preserves at Dalewood Fromage on our way home, the first time in more than three months❤️❤️❤️; for collecting my favorite of favorite Tiramisu dessert treat from Janse at Home at Janse & Co…. mmmmm; for finding three multipacks of Smarties outside my door when I got home, sent to me by Charlotte from Knysna by Woolworths ❤️❤️❤️; for having time for a quick walk when I got home, with the most magnificent sunset; for dancing the rest of my steps of the day; and for feeling happy and healthy. 🙏💙 Continue reading →

Friday 12 June 2020, Day 12 of Level 3, after 66 days of Levels 5 and 4 😷

Corona Gratitude 🙏

#Grateful for more rain falling today, even though it wasn’t forecast; for finishing a Camps Bay Beachfront walk before the rain came along surprisingly, and it not being too cold to be outside, few exercisers being outside; for getting my writing done early this morning; for an interesting visit to the new The Slick Group central city kitchen for Deliveries and Collection, which commences tomorrow; for the cancellation of my trip to Stellenbosch, giving me time to discover some Lockdown Food gems in the City; for a fabulous lunch order I placed at Pilcrow & Cleaver, roasted tomato soup perfect for the rainy day, and an extra duck spring roll treat; for the weather clearing, allowing me another walk, through Bakoven; for a happy candlelight evening dancing 💃 to Kfm at home; and for being happy and healthy, my temperature reading being 37C at one of my stops. 🙏💙 Continue reading →

Dalewood Fromage Sweet Service Award; Sour Service Award goes to ABSA!

The Sweet Service Award goes to the Dalewood Fromage factory shop and its Manager Tracey Falconer. I was in Franschhoek and wanted to stop by the shop in Klapmuts, but was running late from a lunch. I called to find out at what time they close. Tracey told me that they close at 16h00, but that she had to do some admin work, and would still be there until 16h45, which suited me perfectly. Not only did I buy their fabulous Camembert and Brie cheeses, but fresher than fresh same-day laid eggs too. Continue reading →
