Corona Gratitude 🙏

#grateful for a cool day in more ways than one, only 16C but the promised rain never arrived, but it is forecast for tomorrow; for a day of food and connection, having breakfast with Mullerie Taljaard at Labotessa CafĂ©, catching up, receiving good advice, and being spoilt rotten with more Diptyque shampoo, soap and conditioner, gifted to each of us by owner Johan du Plessis ❀; for a quick vegetable shop at Fideli’s; for lunch with Jenny Stephens at Zest, having the Spring Menu of 5 courses at R198, a catch up after three months of not seeing each other, also meeting diners who Continue reading →

Sweet Service Award goes to Labotessa Café; Sour Service Award goes to Discovery!

 

The Sweet Service Award goes to Labotessa CafĂ© at the Labotessa Boutique Hotel, and its owner Johan du Plessis, for making me a cup of tea and serving their fabulous apple tart and cream after the kitchen closing time of 16h00 last week. We had a lovely chat, he would not accept payment for the tea treat, and he sent me home with a wonderful gift of their exclusive French Diptyque bathroom amenities. Continue reading →

Labotessa Café a Dutch-inspired secret in a 5-star luxury boutique hotel on Church Square!

 

It was by chance that I discovered Labotessa Café in the Labotessa Boutique Hotel on Church Square in Parliament Street in Cape Town two weeks ago. It is part of the Labotessa Hotel, in a beautifully renovated five story building reminiscent of Amsterdam from its exterior, exuding beauty and style.

I visited Labotessa twice, and on my second visit I was lucky to meet the owner Johan du Plessis, and to be shown around the Hotel by him. Continue reading →
