Corona Gratitude 🙏

#grateful for one of the best Mondays in a long time, a day of leisure and dining indulgence; for getting my writing completed in time; for the treat of the company of Gary Peterson for 5 1/2 hours at the new Grand Pavilion Restaurant on Beach Road in Sea Point, and for getting such a fabulous table nearest the pavement, with the view onto the palm tree-lined Beach Road Boulevard; for a guided tour of Harry’s Bar by owner Michael Townsend; for meeting FaceBook Friend Johnny Snyman who was there too; for chatting to Brian Van Hansen who cycled past our table and came to chat; for lovely food, especially Gary’s rack of lamb and my Chocolate Torte dessert; for being spoilt with a cocktail/mocktail with the compliments of Michael; for just indulging in the lovely lounge seating area; for fabulous service from Charlene Shapiro of CNC Products, who dropped off an order of mixed nuts and cake mix at the restaurant, knowing that I was there; for a walk with Vivian Warby almost immediately after coming home, indulging in the most amazing sunset at Bakoven, sitting on the steps of a bungalow of a most kind owner; and for being happy and healthy. 🙏💙 Continue reading →

Corona Gratitude 🙏

#Grateful for a beautiful day of sunshine 🌞🌞🌞, feeling so much more cheerful; for getting my work done this morning before Loadshedding hit us the first time at midday, an opportunity to go for a Camps Bay walk; for receiving more financial Information from a Sandak-Lewin Accounts person super efficiently today 🙏; for a quick break, sitting at a table in the sun, to enjoy a slice of the super moist Carrot Cake at Manna Epicure, seeing owner Agnes Renault briefly; for friendly service from the German Butcher across the road; for meeting Jenny Stephens for tea at the recently reopened Woolworths WCafé in the Waterfront, seeing the team of René, Tracy and their male colleague, not having seen any of them in the past five months; for some walking steps on the way to Jenny’s car; for a one-hour wonder of having a chipped tooth fixed and topped with a crown 😊; for being able to dance 💃💃💃 again, first with the lovely DJ Candice Heyns, and then at La Parada Bree Street; for bumping into Gary Peterson and Thomas at Chefs Warehouse & Canteen; for getting home just in time to eat something quickly before our next load of Loadshedding at 20h00; and for being happy and healthy, a fabulous day. 🙏💙 Continue reading →

SA largest circulation publication Huisgenoot sensationally shares my transformation and romance journey!

My journey of transformation, in losing 45kg in weight over a period of a year in 2017, as well as spiritually in walking the Camino last year, with related changes, has been sensationally documented by Huisgenoot writer Pieter Van Zyl.  He wrote the story on the basis of my SwitchBitch Book 1, in which I documented my physical transformation, as well as a telephone interview. I met Van Zyl at the Franschhoek Literary Festival, of which he was an author panelist, last week. Continue reading →
