Monday 21 December 2020, Day 92 of Level 1, Day 271 of Lockdown 😷

Corona Gratitude 🙏

#Grateful for a sunny day, feeling cooler than 26C due to it being windy from this morning onwards; for getting my writing done in a shorter time than normal; for spreading the dishwashing of yesterday throughout the day; for collecting sandwiches and coldrinks from The Bay Hotel for the Christmas function which was held for the Camps Bay Community Stewards (car guards and my cleaners), borrowing a Pick n Pay trolley to transport them to the SAPS parking area; for trying out the new Crème de la Crème Gourmet Dessert outlet in Camps Bay, which has just opened; for collecting a plaque from Pagliari engravers in town for my client, produced efficiently and just in time before their Festive Season closing tomorrow, and dropping it off; for a spontaneous drop-in at Dinkel Bakery, which still had some poppyseed rolls for me; for both lanes of Geneva Drive having reopened  in Camps Bay; and for being happy and healthy. 🙏💙 Continue reading →

Wednesday 4 November 2020, Day 45 of level 1, Day 223 of Lockdown 😷

Corona Gratitude 🙏

#Grateful for a beautiful day, at about 23C, still good before a weekend of rain awaits us 😱; for two Discovery Gameboard plays, probably my last double play as I am receiving no points, seeming to have reached my exercise points limits; for a morning of writing; for a Camps Bay walk, stopping at okja (ex Maison J) to take photographs – the staff seem sad that everything has changed so; for a Vit D boost on the terrace; for a walk through Bakoven; for the City of Cape Town Parks staff coming to mow the grass alongside the Bali Bay fence, after many weeks of begging, sadly now seeing all the litter that was hidden beneath it; and for being happy and healthy. 🙏💙 Continue reading →

Monday 19 October 2020, Day 29 of Level 1, Day 207 of Lockdown. 😷

Corona Gratitude 🙏

#Grateful for another beautiful day, but cooler at 18C; for a busy writing day, writing two stories; for celebrating KitKat being with me for 6 months already, my Easter ‘present’, giving me so much love and joy, just like his ‘sister’ Minsky 😻😻; for harvesting some carrots from the garden; for a longer walk, up to Clifton 4th Beach, sadly with lots of litter alongside Glen Beach and Maidens Cove, being well rewarded by Discovery in Miles, being very close to getting back to Gold status for the third year running; for dancing to Kfm 💃;and for being happy and healthy. 🙏💙 Continue reading →

South Africa reduces list of Red countries for Leisure Tourism to 22, adds Germany!

The Department of Home Affairs has just announced its revised list of Red countries, being the countries whose citizens and residents may not travel into our country as Leisure Tourists. The initial List of 60 countries was announced on 30 September, with a promise of it being updated every 14 days, but the announcement today is late by five days!

Very sadly Germany has been added to the Red List, making all the Big Five source markets for our country Red!  Spain has been added to the List too, it having been a surprise that the country was not on the initial Red List.
