Corona Gratitude 🙏

#Grateful for a relaxed day, getting on top of my work; for a lovely 24 C day with no wind; for not winning high Discovery Gameboard points today but having enough left over from last week to just manage cashing in on a Pick n Pay shopping voucher; for reaching 5000 Instagram followers for Utopia today, receiving a huge boost through the Valentine’s Day promotion we are running with the Bush Radio DJ Mr Meyer; for a late afternoon walk to Clifton when it cooled down a little, with lots of litter to pick up on the way (including a freshly drunk bottle of Hennessy), rewarded with 300 Discovery points for my 70% heart exertion; and for being happy and healthy. Eat Out Awards 2018: a refreshing change, knocks old-guard chefs off their multi-restaurant perches!

I could not think it possible that the Eat Out Awards 2018 could be so refreshingly different, but it appears that new Head Judge Margot Janse has created a fresh new look at the restaurant judging criteria. Sounds of silence at Franschhoek Boutique Hotel, central location, excellent service!

imageSince selling my guest houses I have stayed at a mix of self-catering and guest houses in Franschhoek, and have been very disappointed. Franschhoek Boutique Hotel GM Llewellyn Lambert took pity on my Franschhoek accommodation experiences, as documented in Sour Service Awards on this Blog, and invited me to come and stay at the hotel. He had showed me around just after it was completed a few months ago, but this was my first stay.
