#Grateful that I got enough sleep, after late Instagramming of my day yesterday, and then waking up at about 5h00, when Jennifer Morris was awake too, and we got into an amazing brainstorm; for being able to get some more sleep, yet having enough time to write my story about dinner at Mozambik last night, a first-time visit for me; for a beautiful sunny day at 17C; for getting the double charge to my credit card back from the DipnDip owner Zakir; for a lovely walk in Camps Bay, seeing Martin Myers at Mynt CafĂŠ; for a second walk through Bakoven; for dancing the rest of my steps to Kfmâs âWanneer Laasâ; for sorting out some problems in the apartment building, as Henry was off sick today; for the litter in Camps Bay being under control; for a short bout of Vit D on the terrace; and for being happy and healthy. đđ Continue reading →
The Sweet Service Award goes to Discovery Insure, for its amazing efficiency and generosity in sending an assessor to my house in Hermanus, which was badly damaged in the wind storm on 13 July, damaging two sliding doors as well as a bathroom window, at a repair cost of just over R40000. The assessor has been appointed by Discovery Insure to do the repair work. The invoice from a Hermanus builder to temporarily board up the damaged sections of the building was accepted by the company too, and is due to be paid out. #Grateful for a slightly cooler day at 18C, but perfect for holding the peaceful protest of the Restaurants around the country; for the amazing start to my day, receiving my Tourist Guiding registration confirmation and copy of the card at 7h45, and for so many messages of congratulations â¤ď¸â¤ď¸â¤ď¸; for getting my writing done in time to walk to the participating Camps Bay restaurants, all ready to place their tables and chairs out onto the street at 12h00 sharp; for getting back home in enough time to get to Free Range jewelers at 13h00, and then meet Jenny Stephens at the Green Point Urban Park at 13h30 for a walk followed by tea, and then making the dentist for the continuation of the root canal treatment and a temporary crown; for buying food for Minsky, she lapping up her pellets and favorite sauces for an evening treat, and another multipack box of Smarties, enough to last for another month, the Pick n Pay order finally having arrived; for receiving a Gameboard play and winning 150 Discovery Miles; for Discovery covering the costs of a temporary repair of the storm damage too, an unbelievable insurance company; and for being happy and healthy. đđ Continue reading →
