#grateful for a cool day in more ways than one, only 16C but the promised rain never arrived, but it is forecast for tomorrow; for a day of food and connection, having breakfast with Mullerie Taljaard at Labotessa Café, catching up, receiving good advice, and being spoilt rotten with more Diptyque shampoo, soap and conditioner, gifted to each of us by owner Johan du Plessis ❤️; for a quick vegetable shop at Fideli’s; for lunch with Jenny Stephens at Zest, having the Spring Menu of 5 courses at R198, a catch up after three months of not seeing each other, also meeting diners who Continue reading →
The Sweet Service Award goes to Labotessa Hotel, and its owner Johan du Plessis. I was having some of the delicious appleltaart and cream at the Labotessa Café when Johan came up t9 me and gifted me some of the hotel’s Dyptique shampoo and conditioner room amenities, my absolute favourite, and the second such gift.
The Sweet Service Award goes to Labotessa Café in the Hotel with the same name, and its owner Johan du Plessis. The Café serves the most delicious Dutch-style apple tart and cream, and has become a special hide-away break on Church Square in the City. On a former visit to the Café I had shared with Johan how wonderful the Dyptique shampoo which he had gifted me is for my hair. As I left the Café, his assistant handed me a packet with more Dyptique shampoo and conditioner. Yesterday I popped in for another slice of tart after a client meeting, and Johan and I had a long conversation in the cosy Dutch-inspired Café. He refused to accept my payment for the tart.
