Corona Gratitude 🙏

#Grateful that every cloud has a silver lining, no matter how dark the cloud, a day very different to my usually happy go lucky days; for waking up early and getting my work completed early; for a beautiful sky day, with lots of clouds, and the rain clouds rolling in now; for a refreshing walk to Woolies, to buy veggies for a rainy day soup, the soup turning out to be super tasty by adding the left-over Mauritian sausage dish by Michele mmmm; for a second sunset walk through Bakoven, bumping into siblings Mel and Jason, who took over Roots Café and Kitchen a month ago, having written about them earlier this week; and for being healthy and Free. 🙏💙 Continue reading →

Corona Gratitude 🙏

#Grateful for a lovely sunny day after 3 days of cold, grey and rain; for a day of indulgence, having my hair cut and coloured by Isabella Page Morgan; for popping in at Schoon on the corner of Main and St John’s Road, to buy a dessert treat for lunch, as well as at Woolies St John’s Piazza, for bread for the lunch; for an early 😻😻 Mother’s Day lunch feast with Michele Antelme at my home, she bringing a Mauritian Creole Rougaille, made with garlic, onion, ginger, thyme, tomato paste and canned tomatoes, with beef sausage, mmmmm, and cheeses, and biscuits, which we washed down with a fabulous Oak Valley Sauvignon Blanc, enjoying the sunniness, view, and warmth of the terrace; for a Vit D snooze on the terrace, not having had one in ages; for a walk to Woolies to pay an account, rewarded with a lovely sunset ❤️; for listening to lovely music on Kfm’s Blokparty while I write; for having Minsky for a year today 😻; and for being happy, healthy, and free 🙏💙 Continue reading →

#Grateful for an interesting day of surprises; for more sun to warm up the winter day, but the clouds still made it a chilly day, not quite as cold as yesterday; for having no writing to do, having written today’s story yesterday afternoon; for tackling Sandak-Lewin in more ways than one, not wanting to divulge too much right now; for organizing the rest of what is to become a very sociable spoiling week; for warming Camps Bay and Bakoven walks, happy to see Telkom workers fixing a badly damaged manhole and surrounding pavement; for the privilege of being able to call Councillor Nicola Jowell twice today; for our transplanted carrots growing beautifully after all the rain; for the invitation from Woolies Camps Bay to feature in a video tomorrow; for dancing to Dansdag ón Kfm; for getting an early night, as at 20h00, with the compliments of ESKOM Loadshedding 😱🥵; for the generosity of Martin Koch for fetching our Tourist Guiding Badges, and bringing mine to me this afternoon; for a cat chat with Michele Antelme; and for being happy and healthy 🙏💙 Continue reading →
