Ten days ago Restaurateur and Camps Bay resident Ian Halfon, co-owner of the Slick Group, opened a Gibson’s Gourmet Burgers Summer pop-up Food Truck inside the parking area of the Bay Hotel in Camps Bay, not only selling their well-known burgers but also delicious ice creams and milkshakes.
The Gibson’s Food Truck is located in the centre of the Camps Bay Beachfront, clients accessing the ordering hatch via steps leading up to a platform on the Victoria Road pavement. Continue reading →

#Grateful for a busy day, turned upside down in its usual routine, a nice change; for a good and deep sleep; for a coffee visit to discuss our Tourist Guiding forms to be handed in to the provincial Tourist body by Martin Koch, a laugh-a-minute class and First Aid course colleague, who grew up in Paarl, which was my second home town alongside Wellington, his politician mother and grandmother very well-known; for Martin boldly helping Minsky to aquaint herself to the outdoor, loving it, having her first tree climb today, and now lights-out after all the outdoor excitement 🐱; for a smooth trip to Sea Point to hand in my FitBit to be sent for repair 😢, to have my bracelets repaired at FreeRange, and doing a Winter Weather Lockdown shop at the Garden’s Centre, including some wine, given the forecast of very strong storms and snow heading our way from tonight; for feeling no hip pain today, allowing me to walk all the way to Clifton First Beach this afternoon, feeling super refreshed when I got home, meeting Lisa Hayden on the way, only having ‘met’ on Messenger to date; for being so happy that I danced to Kfm Dansdag, to old favorites such as Mambo no 5 and Makarena 💃; and for feeling happy and healthy. 🙏💙 Continue reading →
From this coming Friday, The Slick Group fires up five of its restaurant brands, to offer a Food Delivery Service from its Lockdown kitchen premises at 70 New Church Street In Cape Town. More restaurants in the Western Cape than in any other province entered and received a Diners Club International Winelist Award 2013. At the 30th Awards function held for the Western Cape at the Vineyard Hotel on Wednesday, MasterChef SA Judge and Tsogo Sun Chef Benny Masekwameng announced the 38 winners in the Diamond, 30 in the Platinum, 26 in the Gold, and 2 in the Silver
Award categories, 96 awards in total.
Veteran wine critic Dave Hughes chaired the judging panel, which included fledgling judge Chef Benny, restaurant guide editor JP Rossouw, wine judges Christine Rudman and Fiona McDonald, Winestyle.biz owner Nikki Dumas, and the Cape Wine Academy head Marilyn Cooper.
