Tuesday 9 June 2020, Day 9 of Level 3, after 66 days at Levels 5 and 4. 😷
Corona Gratitude 🙏
#Grateful for a busy day, turned upside down in its usual routine, a nice change; for a good and deep sleep; for a coffee visit to discuss our Tourist Guiding forms to be handed in to the provincial Tourist body by Martin Koch, a laugh-a-minute class and First Aid course colleague, who grew up in Paarl, which was my second home town alongside Wellington, his politician mother and grandmother very well-known; for Martin boldly helping Minsky to aquaint herself to the outdoor, loving it, having her first tree climb today, and now lights-out after all the outdoor excitement 🐱; for a smooth trip to Sea Point to hand in my FitBit to be sent for repair 😢, to have my bracelets repaired at FreeRange, and doing a Winter Weather Lockdown shop at the Garden’s Centre, including some wine, given the forecast of very strong storms and snow heading our way from tonight; for feeling no hip pain today, allowing me to walk all the way to Clifton First Beach this afternoon, feeling super refreshed when I got home, meeting Lisa Hayden on the way, only having ‘met’ on Messenger to date; for being so happy that I danced to Kfm Dansdag, to old favorites such as Mambo no 5 and Makarena 💃; and for feeling happy and healthy. 🙏💙
My day was carefully planned, having to finish my Blogpost about The Slick Group (eg Balducci’s, Gibson’s Gourmet Burger’s) entering the Food Delivery and Collection market in a big way on Friday, with 5 restaurant brand offerings, prepared out of a central Cape Town city centre kitchen. Owner Ian Halfon is a very slick operator, always grateful for support.
Martin was fun to see, the first time in 70 odd days. We are so grateful that we completed the First Aid course before Lockdown, only three of us having done so out of our class of 26. He is a good and experienced cat owner, so he was bold in letting Minsky outside, while I was having panic attacks whenever she wandered off too far. She has lots of space to play in the garden here. 🐱🐱🐱
I love that the service is really good in general, maybe a bit slower because of fewer staff working, but none of the shops I went to were excessively busy, and there were no queues. 🙏
On my walk Camps Bay and Glen Beach looked good, but Clifton looked like a pig sty, broken garbage bags all along the way. 😡😡😡. I could contact the Solid Waste Department, and their truck came past to pick up the garbage bags. 🙏
Looking forward to two cosy stay-at-home winter days.

The Corona Virus Lockdown (Level 5), announced by our President Cyril Ramaphosa earlier this week to commence on 27 March and to continue until 16 April, subsequently extended to 30 April, lowered to Level 4 from 1 May, and lowered to Level 3 from 1 June, is an unprecedented event in my lifetime. I am posting my daily Facebook post to journal this Corona Lockdown Journey, perhaps to serve as material for a future Book.
