Corona Gratitude 🙏

#Grateful for a fabulous day, my horoscope about financial abundance for today being spot on, having the confirmation of my house sale money being paid into the Trust Account and receiving news of another windfall 🙏🙏🙏; for a mild day with the slightest drizzle at times; for a morning walk to Camps Bay, having tea with Emma Farquharson at The 41 to discuss tomorrow’s Beach Clean; for having another pot of Dilmah tea with a delish croissant 🥐 at Firefly Café as the waxing next door ran a little late; for a delightful leg wax with Angelique, done with love and care, not hurting at all; for a trip to Sea Point to exchange black slacks at PnP Clothing, and a top up of my Smarties stock, unbelievable how the price of sweets and chocolates is increasing month by month; for the purchase of cat food and treats at Absolute Pets, so that the cats can share in my good luck too; for a meeting with Rick Jackson and Tracy Jackson to discuss tomorrow’s Beach Clean Up; for spoiling myself to a very light supper at Tindlovu; and for being very happy and healthy. 🙏💙 Continue reading →

Sweet Service Award goes to PnP Clothing; Sour Service Award goes to The Ladder!

The Sweet Service Award goes to PnP Clothing in The Point in Sea Point,  and its staff member Clemenshaw Petersen, who collected two pairs of shorts in my size from their Kenilworth branch on his day off, and brought them to the Sea Point Branch so that I could collect them there. He called me the day before to confirm that he would do so, keeping me informed. The quality of clothing at the clothing store has improved due to a new buyer, and some branches even stock a new Gavin Rajah range. Continue reading →

Wednesday 16 September 2020, Day 30 of Level 2, Day 174 of Lockdown 😷

Corona Gratitude 🙏

#Grateful for another rainy day, not too cold at 16C; for giving myself this morning off, a rare treat, meeting Isabella Niehaus for coffee/tea and a treat at Manna Epicure, personally looked after by owner Agnes Renault; for a special lunch at the brand new Oxalis Restaurant, which is owned by four former female staff of Janse & Co; for a productive afternoon writing replies to lost baggage and flight cancellation customer complaints, the first in German and the second in English, for a potential airline call centre job application; for a longer call to my Alex, doing better and better career-wise; for a walk through Camps Bay, a refreshing break after being indoors all day; for two Discovery Gameboard plays making 330 Miles; for Discovery Cashbacks for Healthy Food purchases and for one-third back on the Adidas shoes I bought at Sportsman’s Warehouse last month; for the interest rate remaining unchanged; and for being much happier and healthy today. 🙏💙 Continue reading →

Friday 12 June 2020, Day 12 of Level 3, after 66 days of Levels 5 and 4 😷

Corona Gratitude 🙏

#Grateful for more rain falling today, even though it wasn’t forecast; for finishing a Camps Bay Beachfront walk before the rain came along surprisingly, and it not being too cold to be outside, few exercisers being outside; for getting my writing done early this morning; for an interesting visit to the new The Slick Group central city kitchen for Deliveries and Collection, which commences tomorrow; for the cancellation of my trip to Stellenbosch, giving me time to discover some Lockdown Food gems in the City; for a fabulous lunch order I placed at Pilcrow & Cleaver, roasted tomato soup perfect for the rainy day, and an extra duck spring roll treat; for the weather clearing, allowing me another walk, through Bakoven; for a happy candlelight evening dancing 💃 to Kfm at home; and for being happy and healthy, my temperature reading being 37C at one of my stops. 🙏💙 Continue reading →
