Corona Virus: Lockdown Journey Journal, Day 15 of Level 1, 15 October 2021

Friday 15 October 2021, day 15 of Level 1 😷

Corona Gratitude 🙏

#grateful for a day with a difference, posting for my clients in the morning; for a meeting at the Tidal Pool with two Lifesaving managers, after an incident with a very cheeky lifesaver a week ago; for a coriander, chive and spinach plant shop at Starke Ayres, sadly with very poor service from interns, not knowing the difference between lettuce and spinach 😱; for meeting the management of Dineplan at their offices in Dean Street Arcade in Newlands; for meeting Rose Klein and Hans-Werner Klein for tea/coffee at Harvest Café in Newlands Quarter 🌹, and meeting the owner of Continue reading →

Friday 16 July 2021, Day 19 of Level 4 😷

Corona Gratitude 🙏

#grateful for a most beautiful day, with sunshine at 17C, a shorts and sleeveless top day; for getting my writing done this morning and admin this afternoon; for a longer walk today, up Houghton Road, and down my secret Bakoven lanes, photographing flowers in the main, reflecting the beauty in my life; for being a peaceful day in the Cape, feeling totally safe here; and for being happy, healthy, and free.

The Corona Virus Lockdown (Level 5), announced by our President Cyril Ramaphosa earlier to commence on 27 March 2020 and to continue until 16 April, subsequently extended to 30 April, lowered to Level 4 from 1 May, lowered to Level 3 from 1 June, lowered to Level 2 from 18 August, lowered to Level 1 from 21 September, and moved back to Adjusted Level 3 from 29 December,  extended to 15 February on 11 January 2021, extended but relaxed on 1 February, and relaxed back to Level 1 on 1 March 2021, moved back to Adjusted Level 2 on 31 May, moved back to level 3 on 16 June, and moved back to Adjusted Level 4 on 28 June and extended by two weeks on 11 July,  is an unprecedented event in my lifetime. I am posting my daily Facebook post to journal this Corona Lockdown Journey, perhaps to serve as material for a future Book.

Corona Gratitude 🙏

#grateful for sleeping right through last night without disturbance, even if it was only for 5 hours; for a sunshine afternoon, after a grey morning and back to a grey evening, with more rain on the way; for a good working day, catching up on what I didn’t get to in this busy and depressing week; for a lovely uplifting catch-up phone chat with Gary Peterson ❤️; for tidying up a wardrobe and finding my well-worn polka dot leggings, which I’ve worn on both Caminos; for a Bakoven and a Camps Bay walk; for a long chat with Vivian Warby ❤️, both of us having had a terrible week; for a little VitD therapy in the sun this afternoon with my cats; and for being happy, healthy and free. 🙏💙 Continue reading →

Sweet Service Award goes to Dr Wim De Beer; Sour Service Award goes to OUTsurance!

The Sweet Service Award goes to Dr Wim De Beer, of the Cosmetic & Dental Emporium in the Waterfront. Dr Wim is my dentist, having been responsible for my dental transformation over the past four years. One of the implants came out, and he was able to reinstate it within 24 hours of my request, during his lunch break, at a fair cost compared to having to make a new tooth.
