Saturday 16 May 2020, Day 16 of Level 4, after 35 days of Level 5 😷

Corona Gratitude 🙏

#Grateful for another beautiful day, even though only 18C officially but it felt like 22C or more; a wonderful Exercise Time walk, quite social in bumping into Martin and Razia Myers walking their dog, so we walked a part of the way together, and almost literally bumping into Shubha Shukla; for a week of excellent heart exertion walking with one exception, receiving 300 Discovery points for each 🙏; for a relaxed Saturday; for driving to the Waterfront to meet up with and celebrate the birthday yesterday of my longest-standing friend Jenny Stephens, from Sub A in Wellington onwards, with a fabulous birthday cake which Food by Kai, a member of the Restaurant Food Delivery Group, had made and delivered to us in the Waterfront; for KitKat popping in for a visit; for listening and dancing to the Top40 by Carl Wastie on Kfm, with so many SA songs on the list 👏; it being such a feel-good day; for my third day of doing 20000 steps; for being healthy and happy 🙏💙

It was very crowded on the Camps Bay – Clifton Route this morning, one having to dodge the pram and dog walk-runners in particular! Coffee congregating very bad this morning, the cyclists being the Groupies blocking up all the coffee outlets here, and not Social Distancing and not wearing masks. 🥵 The pedestrian light at the Pick n Pay traffic light seems to have been deactivated, very dangerous as I was used to the light sequence.

A lady holding balloons to give to a birthday person in Exercise Time started speaking to me, fascinated that I wear pearls while exercising – I told her that I wear them all the time, every day. ❤️

I felt so exuberant and energized from the walk that I just wanted to dance this morning when I got home, so I did…. 💃💃💃💃

Jenny and I met at the Waterfront, both doing shopping trips, took delivery of the fabulous ❤️-cake, and we got a coffee/tea without having to queue to get inside Woolies. We found a lovely quiet garden space in which to sit, on a retaining wall in a car park, and shared the delicious cake. ❤️❤️❤️

I drove back to Camps Bay along the coastal road. I feel that I drive with Social Distancing too now, more slowly than before. In Camps Bay I saw only Homeless people walking around, we not seeing them in Exercise Time. From the litter lying around I can see that more of them are returning.😱

SA Corona Status: 13524 cases, 247 deaths 😷😥

The Corona Virus Lockdown (Level 5), announced by our President Cyril Ramaphosa earlier this week to commence on 27 March and to continue until 16 April, subsequently extended to 30 April, and lowered to Level 4 from 1 May, is an unprecedented event in my lifetime. I am posting my daily Facebook post to journal this Corona Lockdown Journey, perhaps to serve as material for a future Book.
