Tuesday 23 June 2020, Day 23 of Level 3, after 66 days of Levels 4 and 5. 😷

Corona Gratitude 🙏

#Grateful for a beautiful sunny day, feeling warmer than the 17C weather forecast of my Weather App; for two lovely walks through Bakoven and a Camps Bay one; for seeing Reinard Gerber, GM of the Bay Hotel, whom I didn’t recognize with his mask on after not seeing him in three months, at Sunset Sessions, which they are reopening in the next few days; for bumping into local Rick Jackson, having just returned from his holiday, and into Howard, who I see almost daily on our walks in opposite directions in the main; for finally hearing from the Western Cape Provincial Department of Economic Affairs and Tourism, three weeks after I emailed a lady working there all the papers we were told to send to her, so that we can receive our Tourist Guiding Badge and card…. it’s getting closer to the end now 💙; for getting a Sorbet appointment on day 1 of reopening today….; for Minsky being a good lady today; and for feeling fit and healthy. 🙏💙

I updated the Restaurant Food and Alcohol Delivery and Collection List this morning, now at 682 restaurants, and very very close to 5000 members. The update became a Blogpost.

Corona Lockdown Level 3: Updated List of 682 restaurants offering Food & Alcohol Delivery & Collection in Cape Town and the Winelands!

Two restaurant Covid-19 casualties were announced today: Jason’s Bree Street, Café Blouberg.

Camps Bay and Bakoven were looking good, with not much litter. 🙏

Perhaps I should have waited for a few days before heading to Sorbet on its reopening day. It was not a good experience overall, shocked to see the receptionist wearing no protection other than a visor at 45 degrees from her face, the company email this morning doing a rah rah about their hygiene procedures. As if she was doing me a favour, she put on her mask. Then she had to measure my temperature, right up to me, as if she was holding a gun between my eyes, giving me such a fright! All was good af 36C. No sanitizing 😱. The waxing was a two hour torture session, won’t be doing that in a hurry again, I normally not feeling much pain. Perhaps I’m out of practice. 😱 Then the credit card machine didn’t work, payment however taken off twice for the two times that she tried … 😱 It spoilt my afternoon and I now have a headache. 😢😢😢 Feel like a 🐝 now, so much wax.

At least the haircut and colour at the end of the week won’t hurt.

SA Corona Status : 106108 cases 2102 deaths 😷😥

The Corona Virus Lockdown (Level 5), announced by our President Cyril Ramaphosa earlier to commence on 27 March and to continue until 16 April, subsequently extended to 30 April, lowered to Level 4 from 1 May, and lowered to Level 3 from 1 June, is an unprecedented event in my lifetime. I am posting my daily Facebook post to journal this Corona Lockdown Journey, perhaps to serve as material for a future Book.
