Saturday 6 February 2021, Day 42 of Level 3 Adjusted, Day 318 of Lockdown 😷
Corona Gratitude 🙏
#Grateful for a lovely 26C day, with little wind; for a slow lazy start to the day; for an energetic walk to Clifton and back (earning 300 Discovery points), with the beach and picnic areas packed, almost as busy as on public holidays and many walkers between Camps Bay and Clifton, the fewest wearing masks at all or correctly; for a lovely chat and water stop at The 41 with Emma and Marius Blanc, the Restaurant having reopened three days ago; for getting my Daily Maverick 168 at Pick n Pay via Odwa, not having to stand in the queue outside the store; for a little afternoon snooze; for the most amazing review of Utopia Cape Town on the Good, Bad & Nasty Facebook page 👏; for trying my best to clean up at the Tidal Pool, having asked Camps Bay residents to assist me during our Loadshedding starting at 18h00, but no one came, yet there was a sweet young boy who picked up the litter in the stream for me 💙; for bumping into Ashleigh Fleming and Dirk; for a call with Gary Peterson; for a call with my Alex earlier in the day; and for being happy and healthy. 🙏💙
It is disappointing when the local residents don’t come to help with clean ups. Imtiaz does not work on Saturdays, so I panicked, asking them for support during Loadshedding. But then on my way home I bumped into a German couple whose son needs to do a community project for school, and I can call on him in future. 💙
At least my Loadshedding time was mostly covered by chatting to Ashleigh and Dirk, to Gary, and by cleaning up.
Mr G and Ms M love playing outside my front door in the late afternoons, the only time when Mr G is allowed outside. They chase each other, having great fun. 😻😻

The Corona Virus Lockdown (Level 5), announced by our President Cyril Ramaphosa earlier to commence on 27 March and to continue until 16 April, subsequently extended to 30 April, lowered to Level 4 from 1 May, lowered to Level 3 from 1 June, lowered to Level 2 from 18 August, lowered to Level 1 from 21 September, and moved back to Adjusted Level 3 from 29 December, extended to 15 February on 11 January, and extended but relaxed on 1 February, is an unprecedented event in my lifetime. I am posting my daily Facebook post to journal this Corona Lockdown Journey, perhaps to serve as material for a future Book.
