Friday 19 November 2021, Full Moon and Lunar Eclipse, Day 50 of Level 1 😷

Corona Gratitude 🙏

#grateful for a lovely 21C day, the wind picking up; for surviving my Fast for the Discovery Health Check today, despite the Check going very wrong at two Clicks branches; for Discovery paying for the Health Check; for collecting my new business cards printed at Wizardz in the Waterfront; for picking up Gary Peterson’s birthday present; for a good Status meeting with Utopia and Anatoli; for fetching my rolls at Dinkel, and the German Christmas treats at the German Food Store above Dinkel; for the electrician returning to fix more of our Day/Night problems at the apartment; for a walk to Pick n Pay, bumping into UK visitor Emma walking to the Tidal Pool and Pick n Pay, swopping restaurant notes; for not being affected by the Full Moon; and for being happy, healthy and free.🙏💙

The sister doing my Health Check at Clicks Glengariff did not come to work today, and had not written her appointments into the online appointment book. So no one called me to cancel! The head pharmacist was kind enough though, even though it took a long time, to call their Waterfront branch to check if I could go there, which worked luckily. At the Waterfront branch I saw a sister and her office door was open, so she sent me to the pharmacy counters, to register with Clicks so that they can be paid by Discovery. This took about half an hour, standing in the queue with other pharmacy customers and few staff on duty. Sister Monika was tough, telling me not to speak while she did the blood pressure test. I have never felt a strap so tight on my arm, and have never been told that I have hypertension. Most sisters measure it a few times, as it is the biggest potential loss of Discovery points. Sister was not happy with Discovery points chasers, I clearly being one of them…. 😱. Annoyingly she could not enter my Health Check details onto the Discovery website, making it my problem to get the results to Discovery.

But the Health Check was an eye opener, and bad cholesterol measures were not good, but the good ones were extra good. My eating habits were requested, having to say how many fruits and vegetables I eat every day, hard to answer. Walking 80 minutes a day threw her completely, none of her other Discovery Health Checkers reporting so many minutes, having to translate steps into minutes: 2000 steps = 20 minutes. Phew, what a draining experience. 😱

Now the action begins, and declaring war on the Covid calories. Cain at Dinkel was very sad when I cancelled my weekly order of rolls from next week onwards. No more Hartlief, no more carbohydrates, just veg and fruit. No more croissants, chocolate, Smarties, and mini marshmallows. 😱. And more sleep, no more 5-6 hours.

Germany starts new Lockdown regulations in specific regions. 😷😱

The Corona Virus Lockdown (Level 5), announced by our President Cyril Ramaphosa earlier to commence on 27 March 2020 and to continue until 16 April, subsequently extended to 30 April, lowered to Level 4 from 1 May, lowered to Level 3 from 1 June, lowered to Level 2 from 18 August, lowered to Level 1 from 21 September, and moved back to Adjusted Level 3 from 29 December,  extended to 15 February on 11 January 2021, extended but relaxed on 1 February, and relaxed back to Level 1 on 1 March 2021, moved back to Adjusted Level 2 on 31 May, moved back to level 3 on 16 June, and moved back to Adjusted Level 4 on 28 June, extended by two weeks on 11 July,  returned to Level 3 on 26 July, returned to Level 2 on 13 September, and returned to Level 1 on 1 October is an unprecedented event in my lifetime. I am posting my daily Facebook post to journal this Corona Lockdown Journey, perhaps to serve as material for a future Book.
