Is it just me, but doesn’t it feel like a superb summer holiday day at 24 C, with swimmers in the Tidal Pool, picnickers coming to the Bakoven beaches at sunset, and one having a good start to the weekend? 😊🌞⭐️
My Blogpost today was the Sweet and Sour Service Awards, which went to Discovery Insure and ADT, respectively.

What a day it has been. Our 120th day in Lockdown = 4 months 😱. I had a second sleep this morning, and hence got to the City ten minutes after the start of the Restaurant/Hospitality/Tourism peaceful protest outside Parliament at 10h00. I was almost there, bumping into Martin Myers, when I saw staff of Hudson’s on Kloof Street, telling me about the police action and that the protest had come to an end after three minutes. I had heard what sounded like two shots whilst I was heading to Parliament. So I missed all the action, but immediately the videos and photographs came pouring in, which I posted from the street. An amazing response, with very angry and disappointed restaurant supporters. I am tremendously impressed with Mayor Dan Plato’s strong and prompt voice about the action, followed this afternoon by Premier Alan Winde. To me the irony of the police action is that the 15 minute of protest today generated far more publicity for the plight of the Restaurant industry than did the equally peaceful protest on Wednesday, when there was minimal police interference!
I shopped at the German Grocer, and then at Garden’s Centre, having parked up the road from there, with good service at Hartlief, and Woolworths, one of the trolley guys of the latter helping to carry my very heavy bag to the car, as the Woolies trolleys are not allowed out of the Centre.
I felt in celebratory mood, so had a lovely Dilmah tea and smashed Avo with poached egg at Peppertree Café, a fabulous day to sit outside on their terrace on Kloof Steeet.
I went for a walk through Camps Bay, and received a call from the City of Cape Town Sewerage Department, wanting to know where the overflowing sewerage pipe is on Victoria Road. As I had reported it to Councillor Nicola Jowell, I arranged to meet them and direct them to the leak. It was fixed in 15 minutes! Wow 👏👏👏👏
I bought some cat liver treats at Absolute Pets, and Citronella oil at the pharmacy to prevent Minsky from going to the next door apartment. Whilst sitting on my favourite bench at the Tidal Pool, swimmer Rick Robertson came to say hi. 💙
A lovely sunset this evening. Some dance moves to Kfm to celebrate this special yet unusual day.

The Corona Virus Lockdown (Level 5), announced by our President Cyril Ramaphosa earlier to commence on 27 March and to continue until 16 April, subsequently extended to 30 April, lowered to Level 4 from 1 May, and lowered to Level 3 from 1 June, is an unprecedented event in my lifetime. I am posting my daily Facebook post to journal this Corona Lockdown Journey, perhaps to serve as material for a future Book.
