Friday 7 May 2021, Day 68 of Level 1 😷🥲

Corona Gratitude 🙏

#grateful for a relaxed day, waking up early and getting my work done by midday; for the lovely rain which fell overnight, and during the course of today; for a lovely refreshing power walk in the drizzle, up Houghton Road, up Camps Bay Drive, up to Fulham Road, and back home; for meeting the prize winner of a Vegan Tasting Menu competition at Anatoli Turkish Restaurant, such a lovely couple; for being healthy, happy, and free. 🙏💙

The Sweet Service Award went to Woolworths Camps Bay; the Sour Service Award went to Standard Bank.

A waterproofing contractor came to look at our leak problems, but recommended that we consult a small builder first, to identify the cause of the leaks. He will come on Monday. Two days after writing a long email to my fellow Trustees and to Managing Agents Sandak-Lewin about the craziness of a R1 million maintenance quote to fix the leaks, there is a deathly silence!

I’ve had a really good day, despite temporarily (I hope) losing one of my earrings, and one of my implants 😱

What I feared was a matter of time in working so hard to gain Discovery points with my power walks, 300 per walk, in reaching my limit, which Discovery implements, taking always all incentives to push oneself, I having exceeded 32000 steps. To get points now, and to reach Diamond Status at 50000 points, I need to do a Health Check and a dental check-up. I don’t understand that they don’t motivate us to …… keep walking 👣

It’s International Sauvignon Blanc Day today. #cheers

SA Corona Status; 1 592 326 cases 381171 vaccinations 54687 deaths 😷🥲

FitBit 8000 steps 6 km 👣

The Corona Virus Lockdown (Level 5), announced by our President Cyril Ramaphosa earlier to commence on 27 March and to continue until 16 April, subsequently extended to 30 April, lowered to Level 4 from 1 May, lowered to Level 3 from 1 June, lowered to Level 2 from 18 August, lowered to Level 1 from 21 September, and moved back to Adjusted Level 3 from 29 December,  extended to 15 February on 11 January, extended but relaxed on 1 February, and relaxed back to Level 1 on 1 March 2021, is an unprecedented event in my lifetime. I am posting my daily Facebook post to journal this Corona Lockdown Journey, perhaps to serve as material for a future Book.
