Corona Gratitude 🙏

#grateful for a good night’s sleep; for more sun today, on and off, and for not being as cold as it sounded when Kfm’s Brandon Leigh kept saying this will be the coldest day and night this year today, at 14C today and 7C tonight; for a visit by our Absolute Fire fire equipment servicing company, confirming that our smoke detector fire alarm system does not conform to SANS legal standards đŸ˜±, this company offering amazing service and advice, not charging for their visit today; for finishing off the Zest website today, selecting the photographs for it; for my rolls waiting for me at Dinkel Bakery; Continue reading →

Wednesday 3 February 2021, Day 39 of Level 3 Adjusted, Day 315 of Lockdown. đŸ˜·

Corona Gratitude 🙏

#Grateful for a relaxed day, getting on top of my work; for a lovely 24 C day with no wind; for not winning high Discovery Gameboard points today but having enough left over from last week to just manage cashing in on a Pick n Pay shopping voucher; for reaching 5000 Instagram followers for Utopia today, receiving a huge boost through the Valentine’s Day promotion we are running with the Bush Radio DJ Mr Meyer; for a late afternoon walk to Clifton when it cooled down a little, with lots of litter to pick up on the way (including a freshly drunk bottle of Hennessy), rewarded with 300 Discovery points for my 70% heart exertion; and for being happy and healthy. Corona Gratitude 🙏

#Grateful for more rain falling today, even though it wasn’t forecast; for finishing a Camps Bay Beachfront walk before the rain came along surprisingly, and it not being too cold to be outside, few exercisers being outside; for getting my writing done early this morning; for an interesting visit to the new The Slick Group central city kitchen for Deliveries and Collection, which commences tomorrow; for the cancellation of my trip to Stellenbosch, giving me time to discover some Lockdown Food gems in the City; for a fabulous lunch order I placed at Pilcrow & Cleaver, roasted tomato soup perfect for the rainy day, and an extra duck spring roll treat; for the weather clearing, allowing me another walk, through Bakoven; for a happy candlelight evening dancing 💃 to Kfm at home; and for being happy and healthy, my temperature reading being 37C at one of my stops. 🙏💙 Continue reading →

Sweet Service Award goes to Woolworths Sea Point; Sour Service Award goes to Brandon Leigh of Kfm!

The Sweet Service Award goes to Woolworths at St John’s Piazza in Sea Point, which surprised me when I went to shop for some winter tops recently, selecting three. At the till I was told by the cashier that one of the tops was a line which had been discontinued, and therefore had no price. A second top had been discounted during a recent sale, and therefore only cost half the marked price. Both of these tops had no labels to indicate this windfall! The third Top was charged as per its price label.  In these tight Corona Lockdown times, this windfall was a blessing.
