Corona Virus: Lockdown Journey Journal, Day 91 of Level 1, 30 December 2021

Thursday 30 December 2021, Day 91 of Level 1 😷

Corona Lockdown Gratitude 🙏

#grateful for a more relaxed yet working day, preparing for my Status Meetings this afternoon; for a coolish day at 21C, the South Easter blowing now with a cold bite; for a midday Bakoven walk; for buying two poppyseed rolls at Dinkel, for oulaas in 2021, so nice to see Cain again; for a reasonably empty city while driving to Utopia for my two meetings, happy that its New Year’s Eve bookings picked up so nicely, interesting that diners book so last minute; for a shopping trip to Garden’s Centre, at Hartlief and Woolies; for finding my cardigan at Kloof Street House when I realized that I’d left it there last night, it being so chilly; for an ice cream treat at Unframed across the road; for almost driving into an entourage of blue light flashing traffic and AVBOB vehicles, coming from Queen Victoria Road, linking it to The Arch, having seen that Wale Street from the Cathedral is a no-go zone; for a walk to the Camps Bay Tidal Pool, it being relatively quiet traffic-wise in Camps Bay too; and for being happy, healthy and free. 🙏💙

My Blogpost today was about the USA opening its borders to our country from tomorrow.

USA to remove Southern African countries from its Travel Ban List on 31 December 2021!

At Kloof Street House we experienced good service from Sacha last night. When I called about my cardigan, I was told that I could fetch it. When I arrived, the attitude was haughty, when I asked why they could not have called Nicholas Fjord who had booked the table, and where I had forgotten it. They just hang Found things in the entrance passage, I was told by the Manager. I mentioned owner Paul’s name, and she showed me where he was sitting outside at the back of the restaurant, and he was aghast about my feedback. Worse for him was that a security person requested money from us as we left the restaurant. I then told him about BG’s lamb not being satisfactory, and that Nicholas could rebook his unbooked reservation, Paul’s eyes becoming wider and wider as I went through everything with him. Luckily I know him.💙

I am posting my daily Facebook post to journal this Corona Lockdown Journey, perhaps to serve as material for a future Book.
