Thursday 6 January 2022, Day 98 of Level 1, birthday of Alex von Ulmenstein and Mullerie Taljaard 🌹🌹

Corona Lockdown Gratitude 🙏

#grateful for a beautiful 27 C degree day, making Camps Bay very busy, with a very strong late afternoon South Easter, meaning it will be even warmer tomorrow; for a birthday call to my Alex, starting to plan his visit to Cape Town in 15 days ❤️; for preparing for my client meetings this afternoon; for a successful visit to the Civic Center, to renew my car license, but annoyed that one has to enter from the back of the building without any signage, and answer numerous questions just to be allowed in, for being able to jump the queue of persons who had waited for 90 minutes into the red chair queue, my age being a bonus just for once, and then it taking only 10 minutes and R648 to get my license disc paper, no need to bring a proof of address, with fabulous service by JD🙏; for surviving a visit to my dentist to have impressions done for an implant repair, the least pleasant part of the process; for bumping into Barbara Lenhard in the Waterfront; for my later-than-usual Status meeting for Utopia and Anatoli; for a stop at the Gibson’s Gourmet Burgers & Ribs Food Truck in Camps Bay for a delicious Classic Burger, sitting in the strong wind, having the cobwebs blown away; for my cellphone charger delivered to my home by Camps Bay Hardware, double checking the cost in the Waterfront, at Hi, Vodacom, Telkom and Incredible Connection, all between R350 – R600 for just the cable, a rip off 😱; for a non-talk music-only from 19h00 on Kfm; for presenter Zoë Brown talking on Kfm about my Blogpost of yesterday about there being more Restaurant Openings than Closings for the first time since Lockdown started, The Good Things Guy also posting about it today 👏👏👏👏👏; and for being happy, healthy and free. 🙏💙

More Restaurant Openings Than Closures For First Time Since Lockdown in SA!

My Blogpost today was another good news story from the UK, the pre-flight PCR test falling away from early tomorrow morning. ❤️

More UK travel good news as it lifts pre-departure Test requirement!

This deserves a special paragraph. I’ve been home for three hours now and have not heard the lift used once 👏👏👏. The Saudi Arabians having checked out …..good riddance 😡. Noisy Remax estate agents came to show prospective buyers the EbbTide apartment 202 of Magali Seguillon directly above me, in which the noisemakers had stayed tor two weeks. And Nigerian Alex returned on Sunday, for a six months stay, now staying in Sacha Jack’s apartment 201, without a peep of noise from him in five days. 💙😱

SA Corona Status:  3,504,554 cases 92112 deaths  28,164,339 vaccinations

The Corona Virus Lockdown (Level 5), announced by our President Cyril Ramaphosa earlier to commence on 27 March 2020 and to continue until 16 April, subsequently extended to 30 April, lowered to Level 4 from 1 May, lowered to Level 3 from 1 June, lowered to Level 2 from 18 August, lowered to Level 1 from 21 September, and moved back to Adjusted Level 3 from 29 December,  extended to 15 February on 11 January 2021, extended but relaxed on 1 February, and relaxed back to Level 1 on 1 March 2021, moved back to Adjusted Level 2 on 31 May, moved back to level 3 on 16 June, and moved back to Adjusted Level 4 on 28 June, extended by two weeks on 11 July,  returned to Level 3 on 26 July, returned to Level 2 on 13 September, returned to Level 1 on 1 October,  and the Curfew Curfew lifted on 30 December 2021 is an unprecedented event in my lifetime. I am posting my daily Facebook post to journal this Corona Lockdown Journey, perhaps to serve as material for a future Book.
