Tuesday 2 June 2020, Day 2 of Lockdown Level 3, after 66 days of Lockdown Levels 4 and 5. 😷
Corona Gratitude 🙏
#Grateful for the energy to go for a walk up to Clifton First Beach this morning, 9500 steps rewarded with 300 Discovery points automatically, despite numerous stops along the way to pick up Litter; for saying hello to the always bubbly Juanita of Rainbow, not having seen her in more than two months; for buying a roast chicken from Woolies on International Rotisserie Chicken Day, my post about Woolies selling them again outperforming anything else I posted yesterday; for being such a good writer that parts of my writing is shared by others without acknowledgement or credit 😱; for receiving just over R300 Cash back from Discovery Vitality for my healthy food purchases in May; for the rain we had early this morning; and for being healthy and fit. 🙏💙
It was a grey day right from the start and didn’t change throughout the day, but became more misty and cold as the day progressed. I started the day walking in a short sleeve top, but had to wear a jersey when I got home, for the rest of the day. There were a number of torn garbage bags which I sorted out in my walk, and for the first time the smell got to me. The green Council bins should get a good clean and sanitise. 😡
I spent the whole day tied to my desk, writing my Blogpost about the milepost of having 500 plus restaurants listed on my Restaurant Food Delivery and Collection Facebook Group within one month of this being allowed during Lockdown. I wish this list could be shared far and wide, to help support our restaurants. Please would you share?
I was really annoyed when I saw a section of yesterday’s Blogpost copied and posted without my permission or credit to me, by Facebook Friend Carl Fitschen, who I asked to credit me as the author. I provided a link to the original post, all of which Comments he deleted. I wrote to him on Messenger with my request. This is what he posted subsequently as a comment:
‘This list that was shared to me as is from a restaurant owner and friend was apparently published by Chris von Ulmenstein who wants acknowledgment for publishing the post, although I had no idea she did. So please give credit to her, I was just sharing exactly what was shared with me by a restaurant owner friend. I really didn’t want credit, was just FYI ‘.
Just not good enough to be plagiarized. I have written to the original perpetrator to request the same of him, but no response yet. It was the list of restaurants that have closed down before Lockdown and those that have closed down since. Why would a restaurateur have joy in sharing that part of my Blogpost? 😡😡😡 (Herman Lategan wat sê jy? Has this happened to you? )
The same Blogpost was posted on my Facebook Group, and I was called out by one Donna Scott for making a ‘mistake’ in my list of restaurant closures, as some closures date back to late last year, in exactly the same way in which I have done this once a month for years. She did not stop moaning, so I just stopped replying to each of her comments.

Wow! Not sure why my posting/writing has attracted so much attention in the past three days. And Mercury isn’t even retrograde yet, but coming soon. 😱 My Tarot Card for today is Ten of Swords, and it was good to read it again now, giving me insight and hope for tomorrow being a better day. (PS. It’s Full Moon in three days… )
My vegetable/herb plants were planted today, and I’m sure they’ll add colour and life to my terrace garden. 🙏
My energy level just slid this afternoon, so badly that I got into bed and had a snooze, with Minsky sleeping next to me. I didn’t even go for a second walk or do any dancing during the day, that’s how low I was. I’ll pick up some steps shortly, and I’m sure I’ll feel better. 😢😢😢 But it does feel wonderfully cosy in bed already. 💙
What was sweet was receiving a Messenger message from Lauren Chen Sonn, who is a member of the Facebook Group and who owns a printing company, having sharpened the logo design of the Group. 🙏💙
Some chicken for dinner, a glass of red wine, full-blast music and dancing, as well as a breaking story have sorted me out….. and the most beautiful rain falling ☔️ And an interview about the Restaurant Facebook Group with People’s Post. 🙏
Who could have thought that the Lockdown Regulations for Levels 3 and 4 would be found to be unconstitutional and invalid?
Big petrol queue tonight, as the price of petrol increases by R1,18 per litre.
SA Corona Status : 35812 cases 705 deaths 😷😢

The Corona Virus Lockdown (Level 5), announced by our President Cyril Ramaphosa earlier this week to commence on 27 March and to continue until 16 April, subsequently extended to 30 April, lowered to Level 4 from 1 May, and lowered to Level 3 from 1 June, is an unprecedented event in my lifetime. I am posting my daily Facebook post to journal this Corona Lockdown Journey, perhaps to serve as material for a future Book.

I never received what I posted from you and nor did I know it was yours
Good morning Carl.
I did post my full Blogpost as a comment on your Facebook page and alerted you of the unauthorized and unacknowledged use of my cribbed list. Yet you chose to remove my link to the Blogpost and you wrote very rudely to me on Messenger when I requested you to allow the Blogpost to remain in your Comment feed. Not nice!
