The Sweet Service Award goes to Sandak Lewin, and its Portfolio Manager Vanessa Sillifant, for the fantastic service she is offering us as Trustees at EbbTide in Camps Bay. After two disastrous years of dealing with her predecessor Greg Anderson, who was inefficient, biased towards the other Trustees, and grossly unprofessional, Vanessa was appointed to take over and has been a breath of fresh air. She visited our building within three weeks of taking over our building, something Anderson had refused to do in his two years of dealing with our building! In the past three months she has efficiently assisted us in getting eleven maintenance projects done and dusted, and prevented an excessive R1 million Maintenance project from being implemented, which would have resulted in an exorbitant Special Levy! She is a no-nonsense person, fair, and decisive, and has created greater harmony amongst the four Trustees of our building in getting maintenance jobs done and decisions made, an amazing feat! The next project will be to tackle the Noise Disturbance issues…….!
The Sour Service Award goes to the new Clicks in the Point Mall in Sea Point, a disaster soon after its move from Regent Road. It is massive, and on my way to Sorbet next door, I popped in to indulge in some sweet treats, a bad idea already. I wanted to pay in cash, so I chose a counter that was designated for such payments. They could not get the till open for the change. They had to call a supervisor via the intercom. She took her time, and could not open it. Then she marched off to find more help, at no time informing me of what the next step would be! I returned the chocolates, took my R100 note and walked out, perhaps not a bad idea. It is the worst service I have ever experienced at a Clicks. I was a regular customer of the smaller Regent Street branch, and regret its closure, even it it was not perfect!
