Corona Gratitude ๐Ÿ™

#Grateful for the rain which fell on and off today, lapped up by the vegetable and flower garden, catching me unawares when I did a quick walk to Maison J to get croissants ๐Ÿฅ, getting sopping wet but it was worth every drop in gifting Camps Bay with a beautiful rainbow ๐ŸŒˆ over Bali Bay; for Stuart Bailey coming to try to help me on his laptop with my Amazon job application; for the walk through the city centre, rediscovering it as a Tourist Guide, barely recognizing it, it being so quiet and so many business doors closed; for a indulgent Hot Chocolate at Honest Chocolate, nice and warm inside on this very cold 14C day; for collecting my tourist Guide card from the Western Cape Dept of Economic Affairs & Tourism on St Georgeโ€™s Mall, hardly recognizable without any stalls, looking like a European city pedestrian lane without any pedestrians ๐Ÿ˜ฑ; for celebrating the two month battle of becoming officially registered as a Tourist Guide with an excellent lunch at Villa 47; for doing the Discovery Health Check at Clicks Glengariff Road ๐Ÿ˜ฑ; for the assistance by Johan Prins and Bradley Moore to try to get the Amazon application completed; for getting into my warm bed already; and for being happy and healthy. ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ’™ Continue reading →

Corona Gratitude ๐Ÿ™

#Grateful for another beautiful day, but not as warm as yesterday; for an early wake-up, and a second snooze after having completed most of my writing; for a chat to a Camps Bay resident, who sought some advice of how we can assist families in our suburb that are struggling; for a good walk through Camps Bay and Bakoven done in one go; for catching up on my Food Delivery & Collection Group, having been very depressed about our poor Restaurant industry last week; for an amazing response time from Premier Alan Winde when I requested assistance for my Tourist Guide card and badge; for the fabulous news from Discovery Insure that they will cover the cost of the repair of the storm damage to my house in Hermanus, only having switched to the company two months ago ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘; for being happy and healthy. ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ’™ Continue reading →

Corona Gratitude ๐Ÿ™

#Grateful for a beautiful sunny day, feeling warmer than the 17C weather forecast of my Weather App; for two lovely walks through Bakoven and a Camps Bay one; for seeing Reinard Gerber, GM of the Bay Hotel, whom I didnโ€™t recognize with his mask on after not seeing him in three months, at Sunset Sessions, which they are reopening in the next few days; for bumping into local Rick Jackson, having just returned from his holiday, and into Howard, who I see almost daily on our walks in opposite directions in the main; for finally hearing from the Western Cape Provincial Department of Economic Affairs and Tourism, three weeks after I emailed a lady working there all the papers we were told to send to her, so that we can receive our Tourist Guiding Badge and card…. itโ€™s getting closer to the end now ๐Ÿ’™; for getting a Sorbet appointment on day 1 of reopening today….; for Minsky being a good lady today; and for feeling fit and healthy. ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ’™ Continue reading →
