Tuesday 19 January 2021, Day 23 of Level 3 Adjusted, Day 300 of Lockdown 😷

Corona Gratitude 🙏

#Grateful for a cooler day, overcast this morning, and the wind picking up now; for a good return blast to the Trustee, who clearly is stalking me on Facebook; for an efficient writing morning, giving me time to walk to Clifton Fourth Beach and back, gaining 200 Discovery points; for efficiently setting up a Camps Bay Cleaning meeting for Friday; for meeting with my new second client at his restaurant this afternoon, liking its feel, not having been there for many years; for a spontaneous pop in at Café Charles in De Waterkant, just after it closed at 3 pm, but its door was still open, so I had a tea with Justine Bee and some of my carrot cake, taking the rest home with me; for dancing to Kfm’s Dansdag 💃💃💃; and for being happy and healthy. 🙏💙 Continue reading →

More than 40 new restaurants have opened in Cape Town and the Winelands during Lockdown: November 2020.

News about restaurants closing down during Lockdown has almost ground to a halt, which is good news in itself. Even better news is that a number of new restaurants have opened or are planning to open in Cape Town and the Winelands, the latest count being 44 new restaurants.

Wednesday 1 July 2020, Day 31 of Level 3, after 66 days at Levels 5 and 4 😷

Corona Gratitude 🙏

#Grateful for a beautiful summery Winter day, ahead of a weather change tomorrow; for a good working morning; for an energetic walk to Fourth Beach Clifton, with no torn garbage bags; for being excited to see the City Parks department coming to Camps Bay to mow the lawns, the area around the Stream looking superb now; for checking out which restaurants are open for Sit-Down in Camps Bay; for a shop at Woolworths, Manager Gary Arendse coming to greet me after we hadn’t seen each other there for a while; for a VitD snooze on the terrace; for our vegetable garden getting on fabulously; for my suggestion to our Portfolio Manager to connect Henry to the internet in a money-saving manner being accepted, a positive outcome from the AGM yesterday🙏; for getting a Discovery Gameboard play; for receiving R300 CashBack on the jacket which I bought at Sportsman’s Warehouse, and R340 for my healthy food purchases at Woolies, both done in June, a nice surprise from Discovery; for Minsky just returning from a long walk-about which made me very anxious🐱; and for being healthy and happy. 🙏💙 Continue reading →

Friday 24 April 2020, Day 40 of SA Corona Virus, Day 29 of SA Lockdown 😷

Corona Gratitude 🙏

#Grateful for another warmer beautiful day, and for all those since Lockdown in the last four weeks, making it much easier to stay home; for a long lazy lie-in morning, having written all my Blogposts for today last night already; for another beautiful sunset; for getting the stream at the Tidal Pool cleaned up; for our amazing President Ramaphosa, in being a mensch, laughing at his mask gaffe last night and turning it into a joke; for being able to walk to the shops to get my pancake flour and baking powder, Pick n Pay having stock again; for the lovely locals I’m meeting on the way, most having driven to the shops in the past and not walking, and those that did walk mostly not greeting others; for seeing Mama Egyptian Goose and her brood, growing quickly; for the long weekend lying ahead…. 😂; and for being happy and healthy. 🙏💙 Continue reading →
