Latitude Café sets new heights for casual dining on the Atlantic Seaboard!

 

I was invited by Latitude Events Manager Naledi  Molotlegi to experience the Latitude Café, which opened on the 9th floor of the Latitude ApartHotel on Regent Road in Sea Point in November 2019. It must be the highest restaurant on the Atlantic Seaboard, with beautiful views, and prides itself in being Proudly Cape Town.

Originally developed by the Berman Brothers Group, the building was very recently bought by 12Cape.  New owner Hugo Venter was at the Café, and reminded me that we had danced together at HQ some time ago.

Corona Virus: Lockdown Journey Journal, Day 21, 16 April 2020.

 

Thursday 16 April 2020, Day 32 of SA Corona Virus, Day 21 of SA Lockdown 😷

Corona Gratitude 🙏

#Grateful for the lovely gentle rain all morning, which made me stay and work in bed, my best indulgence since Lockdown started three weeks ago; for the weather turning into a warm and sunny afternoon, allowing to me to do a Vit D catch up on the terrace; for a walk to the shops for Essentials, picking up litter on the way, surprised to see empty alcohol bottles lying around near the stream; for hearing from my Munich friend Marlene Du Plessis-Zoetl for the first time in three weeks since she became terribly ill; for dancing around my couch 500 plus times to exceed my step goal; for the last day of the first three weeks of Lockdown; and for being happy and healthy. 🙏💙 Continue reading →

Sweet Service Award goes to Woolworths; Sour Service Award goes to Table Mountain National Park!

The Sweet Service Award goes to Woolworths in the Waterfront, and its Supervisor Tasleem Murat in the Ladies shoes/underwear/sleepwear department, hardly a space in which I expected a male. I first found him when looking for assistance to find a pair of boots in my size, and Tasleem helped me find them. Then I needed pantyhose, and again he found the right size and c9lour for me. Cape of Fires: Lion’s Head and Tintswalo Atlantic Lodge victims of recent fires!

It was a shock to wake up to the news that the main restaurant, lounge, and kitchen building caught fire earlier this morning at Tintswalo Atlantic Lodge, the Boutique Hotel beautifully located at the foot of Chapman’s Peak, and looking onto The Sentinel mountain in Hout Bay. It is the second fire at the lodge in four years. This follows the devastating fire on Lion’s Head just over a week ago.  Continue reading →
