#Grateful for a lovely Mother’s Day, receiving a call from a cheerful and happy Alex, full of the joys of the English spring ❤️❤️❤️; for sharing in the celebration of the day at Utopia, taking photographs, so special to have 2 tables with three generations in the restaurant, that it was fully booked for Lunch today, and so sweet that each of the waiters wished me Happy Mother’s Day too; for celebrating my Mother’s Day with an ice cream spoil at The Dairy Den in Sea Point; for a lovely Sunday afternoon sleep on a cool afternoon; for being able to get out of bed to do a litter clean up in three hotspots with the McWilliam brothers, who helped me last week as well; and for being happy, healthy, and free. Harbour House Kalk Bay Winter Menu offers excellent value, stylish and scenic setting!

Harbour House View on Kalk Bay harbour Whale CottageIn compiling the Cape Town and Winelands Winter Restaurant Specials list last week, I was invited by Harbour House Kalk Bay owner Michael Townsend to try their Winter Special Menu. My friend Bettie Coetzee Lambrecht and I enjoyed a very special pre-Mothers Day lunch Harbour House Bettie Whale Cottageat the restaurant yesterday, on a lovely sunny day, at the water’s edge.

I had not been to Harbour House in years, located at the Kalk Bay harbour. *  The New York Times has listed Cape Town as its number one ‘52 Places to go in 2014′.  Cape Town is linked to the late Nelson Mandela, and how Table Mountain was his beacon of hope. World Design Capital 2014 is also highlighted.  ‘Cape Town is again reinventing itself, and the world is invited to its renaissance’.  The other top ten Places to Go are Christchurch, North Coast in California, Albanian coast, Downtown Los Angeles, Namibia, Ecuador, Quang Binh in Vietnam, Perth, and Rotterdam.

*   In a surprise move, the City of Cape Town and Golden Arrow Bus Services have signed two memorandums of understanding, agreeing to work together, in the bus company will form part of the MyCiTi Bus service, utilising the City’s bus company branding, and having a common integrated schedule.  In the past the Golden Arrow Bus Services has taken the City of Cape Town to court.
