Labotessa Café a Dutch-inspired secret in a 5-star luxury boutique hotel on Church Square!

Corona Gratitude 🙏

#Grateful for a very good food day; for getting my writing done before 10h00, attending a meeting with Councillor Nicola Jowell, Imtiaz, and Xolani Ngqakayi , City of Cape Town Head of Cleansing for an area which includes Camps Bay, long overdue; for a croissant treat at Firefly Café, and doing one Camps Bay walk; for my Mohnbrötchen waiting for me at Dinkel Bakery; for a very good Status meeting with my client, it feeling like ages since we had last seen each other, but it was just four days; for an amazing new food discovery, Parliament Street becoming a new food lane 💙; for another Camps Bay walk; and for being happy and healthy 🙏💙 Continue reading →

Corona Gratitude 🙏

#Grateful for another warm day, at 27C, and no wind, with rain forecast for tonight and tomorrow morning, fog rolling in now; for surviving the day with very little sleep; for getting my work done this morning, and still having enough time to go for a Camps Bay walk, it being very quiet, and The 41 being the first restaurant closing in Camps Bay, until 15 February; for collecting poppy seed rolls at Dinkel Bakery, which Cain kindly kept for me; for the best service ever at the Civic Centre to get my new car registration disc, I being the only person there, it taking no more than 5 minutes 💙; for a good client Status meeting; for popping in at Pilcrow & Cleaver, buying a wild mushroom Ragu dish to take home and some items from Fideli’s, bumping into Katie & Jonny Friedman there; and for being happy and healthy. 🙏💙 Continue reading →

Corona Gratitude 🙏

#Grateful for so much rain overnight until early this morning ☔️, cooling things down to about 21C today; for a second short deep sleep this morning after not sleeping much last night; for a quick walk through Bakoven with my cleaner Imtiaz, John having left our team, and Carmen not coming to work today; for a busy morning preparing for the Status meeting with my Client; for leaning something new in marketing a restaurant; for picking up a last Mohnbrötchen at Dinkel Bakery, and receiving excellent service there; for a quick pop in at Peppertree Café to buy Mince pies; for collecting cold meats at the Continental Butchery on Kloof Street; for a lovely tea with a view and cookies and a chocolate coated coffee bean spoil at the home of Gary Peterson and Thomas Hohnke 🙏, allowing me to relax completely after my hectic morning before going to my client meeting; for a very good client meeting; for spoiling myself at Fideli’s (next door to Pilcrow & Cleaver), also belonging to Chef Judi Fourie, whom I had just missed; for another refreshing walk through Bakoven, the suburb being deserted, as was the city where I drove today; and for being happy and healthy 🙏💙 Continue reading →
