Sweet Service Award goes to Sandak-Lewin; Sour Service Award goes to Standard Bank!

The Sweet Service Award goes to Sandak-Lewin and its CEO Carl Smit, for his very surprising but welcome acceptance of my request that his company not increase its management fee to our apartment block by more than the CPI of 4%, having taken 10% increases from us in the past three years, without permission from us as Trustees. Mr Smit has not been very professional to me in the past, in his response when I have written to him about the poor service we receive from his Portfolio Manager Greg Anderson since he took over our apartment block two years ago, not ever having set foot in it, and being very poor in responding to emails, or in actioning maintenance issues!  Continue reading →

Saturday 13 February 2021, Day 49 of Level 3 Adjusted, Day 344 of Lockdown 😷

Corona Gratitude 🙏

#Grateful for an amazing day with many surprises; for Imtiaz coming to work; for a leg wax at the Skin Studio in Sea Point, Stephanie always being gentle 💙; for a lovely hair cut and colour by Isabella Page Morgan 💙; for getting to my lunch date with Gary Peterson at the new Noah Café almost on time, spending a most wonderful lunch and afternoon there 💙; for collecting the last three boxes of figs from Peppertree Café 💙; for a quick clean up walk with Imtiaz, but we were far too early as the picnickers were still in Camps Bay in full force, so I’ll go and do the rest tomorrow after the rain; for a fabulous evening at Utopia, lovely to see that it was so full that reservations were closed for this evening; for a surprise gift pack of wines and a gin standing outside my door from the lovely UK clients staying in one of the apartments in our building, with whom I had such a lovely restaurant chat two days ago, who had to return to the UK today due to a serious illness of his brother-in-law; and for being happy and healthy. 🙏💙 Continue reading →

Corona Gratitude 🙏

#Grateful #grateful #grateful for how far I have come during the Corona Virus Lockdown in the past four months, writing a post on Facebook and my Blog about everything I’m grateful for; for a calm peaceful day; for a walk through Camps Bay and then Bakoven, seeing lots of bins standing outside on the pavements, residents not getting the message that the garbage service was cancelled today; for not being affected by the protests in Cape Town today; for the weather turning into a beautiful day, warm at 18C, and very cosy in the sun on the terrace; and for being happy and healthy. 🙏💙 Continue reading →

Sweet Service Award goes to Woolworths; Sour Service Award goes to Standard Bank!

The Sweet Service Award goes to Woolworths, for opening a long-awaited branch of its FOOD store in Camps Bay yesterday. The retailer handed out rusks at the traffic light, to attract attention to the store opening, and offered early bird shoppers R50 discount vouchers. The Manager of the store Lee Worship and the Foods Manager Gary Arendse were friendly in welcoming us to their new store. We as Camps Bat residents are delighted to have the store in walking distance. Continue reading →
