Corona Virus: Lockdown Journey Journal, Day 66 of Level 3, 5 August 2020.

Wednesday 5 August 2020, Day 66 of Level 3, after 66 days at Levels 5 and 4 😷

Corona Gratitude 🙏

#Gratitude for a sunny day today, despite it still being a chilly 14C as a result of a light South Easter, August looking like a wintry month all the way through; for the assistance I received from Ash Perremore Anthea Fletcher and Zoe Harbourne, who all tried to help me with my Amazon technical problem, not having lost hope yet to overcome it; for the amazing news today, that will bring an end to a five year trauma linked to my house in Hermanus, which should be confirmed tomorrow 🙏💙, Johan Prins having been sent to my Tourist Guide class with a purpose, and us becoming friends, another life lesson in the making, celebrating with a 🍷; for a walk through Camps Bay, very quiet again; for chats to Jenny Stephens, Stuart Bailey, and Johan x 2; for all the love in Camps Bay today, the sky having so many 💙-clouds 🙏💙; for a Discovery Gameboard play as well as a Cashback for low kilometers driven last month 💙; and for being happy and healthy. 🙏💙 Continue reading →

Monday 13 July 2020, Day 43 of Level 3, after 66 days at Levels 5 and 4 😷

Corona Gratitude 🙏

#Grateful for the rain that has fallen since last night and throughout the day, there hardly being a walking break, my pool filling up fabulously this month; for not having the time deadline pressure of writing a Blogost today, having written one after the President’s Speech last night; for catching up on admin; for a long catch-up call with my Alex; for missing out on Loadshedding today; for a cosy snooze this afternoon; for dancing to Kfm; and for being happy and healthy. 🙏💙 Continue reading →

Sunday 12 July 2020, Day 42 of Level 3, after 66 days of Levels 5 and 4 😷

Corona Gratitude 🙏

#Grateful for a beautiful sunny day, but a slight chill in the wind, the wind strength picking up this afternoon, bringing us another cold front for the next two days; for missing out on Loadshedding today, what luck; for having a Sunday Breakfast with Lorraine Adam, who did the Tourist Guiding course with me, the first time we have seen each other since Lockdown; for a most ginormous and generous Sunday Carvery lunch at Quentin at Oakhurst Barn (Photograph), with Soren and the lovely Melanie Davidow; for dancing to my playlist tonight to get to my Step goal; for having dropped down further in my Resting Heart Rate, now at 54 beats per minute; for another fabulous concert by Daniel Hope of Hope @ Home on Tour, half classic, half modern, an extended one hour one, streamed from Lübeck again; and for being happy and healthy. 🙏💙

We had the Breakfast inside, due to the windchill, a first. A smaller and less extravagant breakfast compared to the larger ones I’ve hosted on the terrace in the past.

Boy what a table conversation we had at Quentin’s over lunch, not repeatable here. 😱😂. Lovely to see Andrew Cairns and his family there, who had seen my write up earlier this week after our dinner on Wednesday, and booked for Sunday lunch with his family. An amazing three-course lunch, excellent value at R295.

Restaurants have been dealt a double blow in President Ramaphosa’s Speech this evening:

The President’s Speech: Level 3 retained, Alcohol Sales ban and Curfew announced as of Monday 13 July 2020, a further blow for the Restaurant industry!

SA Corona Status 276 242 cases 4079 deaths 😷😢

FitBit 10000 steps 7 km 👣

The Corona Virus Lockdown (Level 5), announced by our President Cyril Ramaphosa earlier to commence on 27 March and to continue until 16 April, subsequently extended to 30 April, lowered to Level 4 from 1 May, and lowered to Level 3 from 1 June, is an unprecedented event in my lifetime. I am posting my daily Facebook post to journal this Corona Lockdown Journey, perhaps to serve as material for a future Book.

Corona Gratitude 🙏

#Grateful for the wonderful rain since yesterday, my pool water level climbing beautifully, and our new plants being very happy for all the water; for the breaks in the rain today, so that I could do a walk through Camps Bay, and twice through Bakoven, not getting wet at all; for the good timing of our Loadshedding, from 16h00; for a morning call with Janet Pillai, and a looong evening one with Jenny Stephens; for a little nap during Loadshedding; for dancing 💃 to Kfm; and for being happy and healthy 🙏💙 Continue reading →
