Thursday 25 June 2020, Day 25 at Level 3, after 66 days at Levels 4 and 5. 😷

Corona Gratitude 🙏

#Grateful for a sunny morning, switching to clouds and rain from late afternoon; for an upside down morning which became a lovely day, feeling calm and peaceful; for my lawyer calming me down about the Body Corporate AGM; for a walk along Camps Bay, popping in at the new Sunset Sessions Deli, ‘bottle store’, and coffee bar; for receiving a box of cooking ingredients to make Beef Wellington, under the guidance of Chefs Luke Dale Roberts and Pete Goffe-Wood for Live Cook Channel; for a walk to Bakoven, as the rain made its way to us; for a surprise visit ❤️🐱; for the fabulous company and assistance of Jenny Stephens in preparing Beef Wellington for our dinner tonight, being very happy with our end result; and for being happy and healthy. 🙏💙

I wrote a Blogpost about Guidelines prepared by the Tourism Business Council of SA for reopening restaurants, expected for 1 July.

Guidelines in preparing for Restaurants reopening on 1 July after a three-month Lockdown!

The revised Level 3 regulations have just been published, and still there is no opening date for restaurants, theatres, and cinemas, although cinemas and theaters are capped at an audience of 50 per performance. The consumption of alcohol in restaurants is definitely forbidden, the only definite regulation pertaining to Restaurants. 😢😢😢😢😢 Oi vey 😡

Government gazettes updated Level 3 regulations for Restaurants, Theatres, Cinemas, and more, only certainty for Restaurants is that ‘on-site consumption is prohibited’! Still no opening date or specific regulations announced!

Sunset Sessions opened today to sell alcohol and deli items, as well as coffee and very well-priced croissants, muffins, brownies, and more. I did a shop at Woolies, given the rain forecast for the next four days.

Jenny and I mastered my high-tech Siemens oven which I use once a year, and given all the zillions of MasterChef Australia episodes which she has watched, Jenny loved taking charge of the preparation of our Beef Wellington with green beans, and a Cafe au Lait sauce. We were quite impressed with the outcome, following Chef Luke Roberts’ plating (Main Photograph). The fillet and the sauce were fantastic, paired with a Cabernet Sauvignon for Jenny and a Shiraz for me ! ❤️❤️❤️ I will write a Blogpost about our cooking experience, as well as a summary post on my Facebook Group.  What Jenny and I loved about the evening was that we both grew up in Wellington, and became friends almost immediately when starting school in Sub A.

The Corona Virus Lockdown (Level 5), announced by our President Cyril Ramaphosa earlier to commence on 27 March and to continue until 16 April, subsequently extended to 30 April, lowered to Level 4 from 1 May, and lowered to Level 3 from 1 June, is an unprecedented event in my lifetime. I am posting my daily Facebook post to journal this Corona Lockdown Journey, perhaps to serve as material for a future Book.
