Sunday 28 November 2021, Day 59 of Level 1, 1st Advent 😷
Corona Gratitude 🙏
#grateful for a cool day initially after rain overnight, becoming misty and then clearing up, becoming humid; for catching up on sleep, on writing blogposts for next week, and on walking outside, having been below my step quota in the past two days 😱; for trying out the new The Pottery which opened in Camps Bay this week, opposite the Pick n Pay and Woolies parking area, next to Dizzy’s; for bumping into two German tourists, on honeymoon and not very happy after their first week in Cape Town, she having been ill, and complaining about the overflowing litter bins and ‘rich’ Camps Bay not matching Ibiza in any way 😱, but I offered to assist them in finding a game lodge on this side of the country; for my German tourists having arrived in Paternoster safely and loving the Strandloper Hotel; for popping into the new Beach House which opens in Camps Bay on Thursday officially, where I bumped into Chef Peter Goffe-Wood consulting for the restaurant and its neighbouring Bo-vine steakhouse, which opens soon; for a refreshing Bakoven walk; for the President keeping us at Level 1 thankfully, and for speaking out strongly against the many countries which implemented the travel ban against SA and our neighbouring countries; for loving listening to Handel’s Messiah for some Advent spirit 🌲🎄; and for being happy, healthy and free.
President Ramaphosa keeps SA at Level 1, selected mandatory vaccinations coming!
The Pottery is owned by two brothers and a friend, two living in Camps Bay now. They have similar restaurants in George and Jeffrey’s Bay. They sell Wonki Ware plates and bowls, already glazed, as well as unfired ceramics, which one can decorate with a variety of colors and have baked in the kiln in the restaurant. I loved their croissant offering, which comes with grated cheese, butter and delicious strawberry jam, all for only R23, a lovely contrast to my recent bad experience at Firefly Café. And then I topped that with a delicious berry and ice cream waffle…. Mmmm. Very reasonable prices.
SA Corona Status: 2,961,406 cases 89797 deaths 25,288,417 vaccinations

I am posting my daily Facebook post to journal this Corona Lockdown Journey, perhaps to serve as material for a future Book.
