Wednesday 19 May 2021, Day 80 of Level 1 😷

Corona Gratitude šŸ™

#Grateful for a fabulous day, being organized, getting my work done in good time; for a lovely sunshine day before the rain clouds rolled in over Lions Head, our rain sign; for Earl Grey surviving a little accident at home; for having time to do a rain soup ingredient shop at Woolies, with the R100 Woolies voucher I earned with 2 Discovery Gameboard plays; for a quick shop at Continental Butchery at Kloof Street; for my first Status meeting with my newest client at Manna Epicure, outside on their sunny terrace; for a productive Status meeting at Anatoli, always spoilt with biscuits and Dilmah Earl Grey tea šŸ™; for Gary Peterson joining me for a free Pre-Dinner Aperitif at Anatoli, offered to FaceBook Friends of the restaurant as a special today; and for being happy, healthy, and free.

My Blogpost today was about the new Restaurant transformation TV series ā€˜In die Sop’ by Chef Bertus Basson, tonight’s episode being the transformation of Evita se Perron’s Kossie Sikelele restaurant in Darling.

Chef Bertus Basson is ā€˜In die Sop: Restaurant Evolusie’, a restaurant turn-around TV series, including that of controversial journalist Jacques Pauw!

Earl Grey and Minsky love to dash outside if a door is opened, even slightly. Today Grey charged to the sliding door as I was closing it at a huge speed, and he always beats me to it. Today he got caught by the door. He seems fine now, but seemed to have got a huge fright.

Anatoli Turkish Restaurant offers a pre-Dinner Aperitif at R75 for 4 Mezzes, half a flatbread, and a glass of lovely wine, on Tuesdays – Thursdays, from 16h00 – 18h00. Today we offered this to our Anatoli Facebook Friends for free, for which Gary joined me. Gary attended the opening of Anatoli 37 years ago! Gary and I had a lovely and frank catch up chat over the red wine (I) and an Elderflower, apple, and mint sparkle virgin cocktail (Gary). A lovely spoil.

I got home to make the next pot of soup for the all-day rainy-day forecast for tomorrow.

The Corona Virus Lockdown (Level 5), announced by our President Cyril Ramaphosa earlier to commence on 27 March and to continue until 16 April, subsequently extended to 30 April, lowered to Level 4 from 1 May, lowered to Level 3 from 1 June, lowered to Level 2 from 18 August, lowered to Level 1 from 21 September, and moved back to Adjusted Level 3 from 29 December, Ā extended to 15 February on 11 January, extended but relaxed on 1 February, and relaxed back to Level 1 on 1 March 2021, is an unprecedented event in my lifetime. I am posting my daily Facebook post to journal this Corona Lockdown Journey, perhaps to serve as material for a future Book.
