Corona Gratitude 🙏
#Grateful for another fabulous day, they are just getting better and better 💙; for the luck of a 4th restaurant added to my Client Portfolio today, pinching myself to check if this is real; for the excitement of working with a brand new restaurant, opening next month, attending a glassware selection and cocktail tasting today, oh what fun, meeting new suppliers and reconnecting with the mixologist Aidan Powrie, whom I hadn’t seen in 2 years; for collecting my poppyseed roll order from Dinkel Bakery; for amazing reaction to a Dinner Bed & Breakfast promotion Utopia is running with the Villa Rosa guest house in Sea Point; for a chatty Status Meeting and Dilmah Earl Grey tea at Utopia; for amazing amounts of rain today, pouring this afternoon and a few moments ago too; for a break in the rain to do a refreshing walk in Bakoven and part of Camps Bay; and for being happy, healthy, and free. 🙏💙
My Blogpost today was about the exciting news that Chef Matt Schreuder is opening Homespun at The Andros in Claremont on 18 June.
Breaking Restaurant News: Homespun at The Andros opens 18 June, second restaurant of Chef Matt!
My poor Alex was badly bitten by a dog while doing deliveries a few days ago. He may have to have surgery on his hand. 😱
I am learning so much by working with my restaurant clients, like setting up a brand new restaurant from scratch. A bigger marketing challenge than taking over an already operating restaurant. 💙💙💙
Gary Peterson is so talented, in his photography, and also his writing, and is a fabulous friend and great company. He wrote such a lovely review about the Anatoli pre-Dinner Aperitif of last night. #thankyou 🙏🙏🙏
I’m so grateful that Minsky came running inside when I called her, not getting too wet, it pouring again. She must have a dry hiding place. 😻😻😻

The Corona Virus Lockdown (Level 5), announced by our President Cyril Ramaphosa earlier to commence on 27 March and to continue until 16 April, subsequently extended to 30 April, lowered to Level 4 from 1 May, lowered to Level 3 from 1 June, lowered to Level 2 from 18 August, lowered to Level 1 from 21 September, and moved back to Adjusted Level 3 from 29 December, extended to 15 February on 11 January, extended but relaxed on 1 February, and relaxed back to Level 1 on 1 March 2021, is an unprecedented event in my lifetime. I am posting my daily Facebook post to journal this Corona Lockdown Journey, perhaps to serve as material for a future Book.
